Just a quick note to let you know I have a new article at The National about the SNP's extraordinarily strong performance in the Glenrothes Central & Thornton by-election, which bodes extremely well for the Holyrood election next year. You can read the article HERE.
And while I'm about it, I may as well give one more plug for the new episode of the Scot Goes Popcast, in which you can learn more about the new "Get Counted" campaign for independence. You can watch it HERE or via the embedded player below.
IFS:
ReplyDeleteDo you know whether or not the strong showing for Reform at present is primarily on the one hand a product of Labour / Conservative weakness or on the other hand a positive vote for Reform policies in and of themselves?
Why do you ask that same question every post, creepy anon? And why aren’t you reading anybody’s answers?
Delete"Why do you ask that same question every post, creepy anon?"
DeleteIf creepy, it's probably Sharon Donoghue ???
NEW: Angus Robertson under fire over meeting with Israel-linked arms firm.
ReplyDeleteRobertson was previously forced to apologise after he held secret talks with Israel’s deputy ambassador to the UK, Daniela Grudsky Ekstein.
DeleteOh, Shug, what *won’t* you do to scuttle the cause of independence? What a hero.
DeleteRemember when Angus was being lined up to be Nicola's successor? Good times.
DeleteNarrowly speaking, he would have been an outstanding successor for her. Neither of them is the least bit interested in independence and both of them have harmed our movement for the shameless good of their outlandish egos and entitlement.
DeleteSwinney lacks that joie de vivre. Where’s his visit to Israel to cheer on the occupation as Scotland’s first minister?
I remember George Galloway meeting Saddam Hussein.
ReplyDeleteDid Galloway have a trip on expenses to Mykonos with "Comedian" Simon Fanshaw? Asking on behalf of Sheena Easton.
DeleteI remember an ALBA supporter supporting George Gallowat
ReplyDeleteI remember a prominent ALBA member standing as a candidate for George Galloway's party without being thrown out of ALBA. The rules are optional for some.
DeleteCraig Murray.
DeleteKC, if you're absolutely determined to break your word and continue posting here, you're going to have to move off this "what is a de facto referendum" schtick. My tolerance level for any of your repertoire is not high, but my tolerance level for that in particular is pretty much zero.
ReplyDeleteJames,
DeleteUnlike that endless Britnat troll KC, I am well aware what a de facto referendum is, and like the vast majority, think we should have one, and have little doubt what the result would be.
However I have one slight reservation, would the UK government be under obligation to recognise the result? A couple of my mates, who are strong Yessers, share this same concern. I’d be interested in your thoughts.
KC, you really are not as clever as you think you are. No "strong Yesser" would phrase the question in that way.
Delete(Different Anon)
DeletePut this way, I think it's a fair question. My answer would be: No, perfidious Albion is under no obligation at all. At least that's the way their core principle of "Parliamentary Sovereignty" works. The one that states "We can do as we bloody well like."
We've seen all the trouble this causes them when it comes up against international reality. The Good Friday Agreement and Brexit's customs borders? Oops. No Westminster waiver there. How about holding onto Diego Garcia? Whoops. They conceded that one, too.
Now ask yourself this: was the UK government "under any obligation" to recognise Irish or Jamaican, Maltese or Bermudan, Indian or Pakistani, Canadian or New Zealand or Australian independence too?
And are those nations free today?
Strange, isn't it, when we pretend we're the first to ever leave them.
No, it's not a fair question. The clue that it's not a fair question is that KC asked it. Do not feed the troll *under any circumstances*, please: he causes quite enough problems as it is.
DeleteHaving heard Robertson speak at a couple of unrecorded SNP meetings in the past I wouldn't support him for a post of cludgie attendent. A transparent and self serving elitist.
ReplyDeleteRobertson is a traitor
ReplyDeleteSimple as that
My hunch is he was always undermining the cause and reporting regularly to his Lossie based handlers when MP for Moray
His wife is not very nice either.
DeleteYou have to wonder at just how poor a judge of character Eck was, to let such transparent hazards to the cause hold such prominent positions. He knew he had the clout to control exactly who has what, as Nicola did after him. But he let his enemies in with open arms. He should have felt the knives their had behind their backs.
DeleteAh the I hate. Him, I hate her, I don’t trust her , I don’t trust him. Traitors the lot of them. I think most of us see through the underminers on here.
DeleteAnon at 12.27 ... yes, it is all very tiresome.
Delete"My hunch is he was always undermining the cause and reporting regularly to his Lossie based handlers when MP for Moray"
DeleteThis is a load of absolute shit; I'm genuinely surprised anyone can come out with it without a load of laughing emojis.
Is that the same handler you answer to? Laughable that you think no one realises what you are and what you are trying to do. Sad wee man.
DeleteRobertson a long time great pal of Murrell and his wife.
DeleteSo?
DeleteYou don't need to take the rumours about Shug on trust. You just need to notice his actions. What is he doing with Israel? What is his agenda? He's as transparent as he is conceited.
Delete4.07pm so you are clueless.
DeleteNo. It is of no consequence
Delete8.52 - what is? Are readers supposed to be mind readers.
DeleteOff topic a bit.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Celtic.
"This demolition job today means Celtic have secured their fourth Premiership title in a row, and their 13th in the last 14 seasons.
Celtic have now claimed 21 of the last 26 domestic trophies."
Scum
Delete"gers" fans of the ibrox club continue to distinguish themselves by being equally bad losers and winners
DeleteEven more off topic but I heard that with Rangers being taken over by the 49ers the club will hereafter be referred to as the 1690ers.
ReplyDeleteNow witty or not, and the reality of an old Scottish club being sold to an international investor. it might be appropriate to enquire the colour of the " greenbacks ' funding the purchase of Rangers.
Rumour has it that the major American investors are very much of the colour " Green "
And that I suspect could be a major issue for many a Rangers supporter who might choke on their cornflakes at the thought of that.
A bit of investigative journalism perchance James?
Remember that soccer is essentially a business.
DeleteSoccer?
DeleteOnly both votes SNP can bring a better Scotland.
ReplyDeleteNo more LOL than throwing your list vote away on a joke party like ALBA.
Delete4.56pm both votes SNP in 2021 gave us selfID nonsense and false promises of a referendum.
DeleteWe had fun along the way though. Doing nothing after willingly going to the Supreme Court to confirm we can't have a referendum, Sturgeon resigning for no particular reason, peak of incompetence under Humza Yousaf & for some odd reason expending a vast amount of political capital on gender nonsense just for the Supreme Court to confirm that it was all for nothing.
DeleteBeen fantastic since 2021, who wouldn't want 5 more years of it?
Why don’t you say you are anti-snp and independence. At least that would be honest.
DeletePretty obvious who the unionist trolls are here. Just ignore their petty bollocks of deflection and distraction. Don’t answer their Keech!!!
DeleteFewer and fewer independence supporters are interested in the ridiculous, stupid conspiracy theories being flung around by Alba supporters.
ReplyDeleteAlba and its friend wings over Scotland are now just laughing stocks on the very edge of our movement.
No relevance at all.
7.09pm so why are you commenting on it then! How about telling us when Swinney will actually do something about independence.
DeleteAlba want to close down the SP because they can't win any seats there.
DeleteAnon @ 10:37
DeleteCertainly looks that way.
If Alba can't get elected, they want to burn the Scottish parliament down.
Not a great look for a Scottish party.
To be fair though, I think having links to those committing actual genocide (Angus Robertson's support for those arming Israel and holding secret meetins with Israeli officials) is a little more extreme.
DeleteI mean if we're classing Mike Dailly as a top Alba figure then Robertson is definitely a top SNP figure. Not a great look for a Scottish Party.
No ‘secret meetings’ were held and no support for arming Israel by the SNP. The Scottish Government “reiterates its unwavering support for the ceasefire in Gaza, for the calls for all efforts to be made to ensure an extension of the ceasefire, for humanitarian aid to reach people in Gaza, and for the remaining hostages to be released; recognises and supports the humanitarian assistance that the Scottish Government has provided to the people of Gaza; calls for recognition of a Palestinian state and a two-state solution; recognises that Scottish Enterprise does not provide funding for the manufacture of weapons or munitions; notes that Scottish Enterprise operates a human rights due diligence process in the awarding of any funding; recognises that responsibility for issuing licences for the export of arms is reserved to the UK Government; calls for the suspension of arms exports to Israel, and does not believe that any public funding should be going to supply arms to Israel.”
DeleteAnon at 4.53. Why are you introducing facts? The SNP Baaad brigade need their lies and disinformation.
DeleteSkier in the National btl again, wanging on about neutral toilets AGAIN. The guy's obsessed.
ReplyDeleteFor him life is just a bowl of jobbies
DeleteWhat are you two, Hawkmen for Wingsy?
Delete9.27pm you are obsessed with Wings. Did you have chicken wings tonight.
DeleteHe/she/they/it prefers hot dogs
DeleteWings Lol That's no way to describe the Rev.
DeleteWOS Brigade and Alba are all over this one. Probably the same two or three wee saddos. They must have such empty lives. The N S references and S C application are starting to be referenced again. They are getting desperate. Usual combination of lies and ignorance but what do you expect from pretend Indy supporters. Meanwhile support for Indy keeps growing. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteCool, when's the referendum?
Delete10.37. Ah, one of the simpletons who thinks it can magically just happen. On you go then. Wave your wee wand. Wee soul.
DeleteSo what's the plan to get one?
DeleteAre you in the hopes & wishes camp or appealing to Keir Starmers better nature camp?
Awww is your wee wand not working? Back across to WOS and Alba for you. They have got a full proof (or possibly fool proof, bearing in mind the mouth frothers who read the blog) plan that will get you Independence tomorrow. It simply involves going on and on about gender day after day. You like that don’t you? Another useful idiot suckered by the unionists into a culture war over something less than 1% of the population cares about, and into hating N S and the SNP over false allegations and lies. You have contributed with the other muppets to Indy being set back by at least 10 years. Cretins. Bright side? Well the unionists love you.
DeleteAnswer the question Unionist SNP muppet at 3:28 PM
DeleteWHEN is the referendum?
Aww still raging. Is your wee wand still not working? Truth hurts you it seems. Take time out. SNP Unionist? In response to your unintended unionist credentials that is a cracker. The sooner you hold your hands up to having been suckered the sooner the anger will go. Breath slowly.
DeleteWe're waiting on Liberate Scotland / ISP's plans.
