The vote to block Burnham is reported as being eight to one (with a couple of abstentions). Stalin would have been proud. An enormous FU to what’s left of the rank-and-file.
ReplyDeleteNeal Lawson, the head honcho of Compass, (predecessor organisation of Labour Together which was taken over by Morgan McSweeney) is on record as saying that the preferred candidate for Labour leadership was always Wes Streeting. The logic being that Labour were going to loose the GE after 2019, and Streeting would step in to pick up the pieces. I don’t buy that. The fortunes of Labour under anyone other than (the universally maligned by every mainstream media outlet (including the BBC who were supposed to hold a neutral position) to the point of derision) Jeremy Corbyn, were substantially brighter than that.
You could say that by blocking Burnham, McSweeney is further weakening Starmer, thereby positioning Streeting to take over this summer. That would be giving McSweeney undue credit. He’s just a wee thug who studied the Trotskyite manual on divide & rule, and then applied it to the Right.
Fantastic news that Burnham has been blocked. More of the same, please, so the repulsive Labour Party can be consigned to oblivion.

ReplyDeleteOn a far more serious topic, it is very evident that in America ICE and the Facistic Govt who run them have now adopted the Israeli-Style approach to dealing with any dissent and with protesters;
Shoot first, block medical aid for victims, sweep/clear the murder scene of incriminating evidence, seize the phones of witnesses and even arrest them and call every victim and just about every eye witness to their crimes 'terrorists'.

And remember, both Farage and Badenoch want to import that way of doing things to these shores.

ReplyDeleteOn the one hand he prattles on about ensuring honesty and transparency from the Glasgow NHS board but is in contempt of the Court of Session for doing the exact opposite regarding papers his government holds and has been hiding for 5 years now. NOTE Swinney initially claimed they did not hold the papers requested. A blatant lie. Swinney continuing on what he did as Deputy FM - trying to cover up wrongdoings of Sturgeon's gang. Exactly why he got the job as FM. A reliable Redactor. Spending unknown amounts of public funds taking this through many court cases. Delay after delay.
He now claims his government cannae release them until they have redacted the hell out of them. I guess they must have run out of black felt pens ( I know it is actually done by computer). He has had 5 years to do his redacting. Just how many lines and pages has this FM who claims to support transparency and honesty redacted in his career. A very handy excuse this line he punts about saving the identities of the alphabetties. I repeat he has had 5 years to redact anything.
So just when is Swinney going to be in court charged with Contempt of Court. Oh that's right the Lord Advocate reports to him, and is in his cabinet, was appointed by Sturgeon but obviously completely independent.

Is Swinney, like Sturgeon, non binary? Will he declare he is after he leaves office. He certainly, like Sturgeon, prefers to attend Pride marches than independence marches. Was Sturgeon applying positive discrimination measures in favour of all the Pride people during her time as FM while keeping it a secret she is non bio oops sorry non binary. Is that how all these dull and useless people like Swinney got their positions? She certainly favoured positive discrimination for people with all sorts of other differences. She prioritised other stuff over competence, intellect and desire for Scottish independence when recruiting and promoting. However, unlike Sturgeon, there is little chance of Swinney’s wife being prosecuted by the police for embezzlement when he decides to retire. It’s more likely though that when he writes his book it is full of redactions. Transparent and Honest John he most certainly is not and neither is Sturgeon.
