They didn't tell us about THAT one! The "secret" YouGov poll showing a surge in support for independence

Thanks to Paul Kirkwood on Twitter for directing me towards YouGov polling data from June that I wasn't previously aware of.  That's the subject of tonight's audio commentary - you can listen via the embedded player below, or via the direct YouTube link, or on Soundcloud.  You can also find all of the audio files I've been uploading in podcast form on Spotify.

After listening, I'd be grateful if you'd subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven't already done so - that helps build its visibility.

Bear in mind that I'm keeping the fundraising post pinned to the top of the blog for a while, so when you visit the site in the coming days, please scroll down to find the newest content.

  1. James, you have a good clear voice that comes over well. There is nothing wrong with the SNP talking about independence but they have created their own problem. The SNP promised Indyref2 since 2017 and garnered votes and money off the back of this promise. Now they are saying we are back at the starting line. They have broken the bond of trust that was there before with independence supporters. To regain that trust action is required that shows they mean business. For example, bin the GERS report that the Scotgov produce every year that provides a propaganda boost for the Britnats.

As a footnote KC is NOT beloved by me.

    1. I’m sure you don’t mean that last sentence Ifs, and you’re just putting on a face.

  2. Ifs are you now agreeing that the SNP is the only party in town? Maybe those that continually complain about them join them to change them.

    1. Attempts to change from within have been thwarted and the constitution altered to prevent meaningful change.

    2. Anon at 3.09pm you could have agreed that GERS should be binned but no you prefer a wee dig at me.

Many trolls, particularly that David Fisher character who claims to be an SNP member but cannae prove it, try to link me to Campbell's views despite me regularly posting I have my own opinions.

I have never said that the SNP should be destroyed. I have wondered if that would be for the best but dismissed it. I have always advocated a de facto referendum carried out by a new SNP leadership that actually wants independence. Swinney is not that.

Maybe the SNP members who allowed this mess to happen to the SNP should accept the responsibility and make the SNP great again. Sadly most just stick their head in the sand. I am not aware of any nation that got free from the British Empire by sticking its head in the sand.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There is a settled will in favour of independence and it is time for a de facto referendum.
