  1. Zionism is racism.
    Trans women are women.
Two opinions, adopted as official messaging by major political parties which have nothing whatsoever to do with their core purpose.
Just as the SNP trashed their hard won reputation when they let mentally ill nappy fetishists form official policy, the E&W Green's big conference reveal came from a woman with links to the world's most notorious terrorist organisation. Just as the Greens were on the cusp of becoming a serious political force, Polanski puts it all in jeopardy. Idiot.
Scottish independence and the future of the planet. Why are the two issues that really matter in the hands of political amateurs?

    1. The line about “mentally ill nappy fetishists” is a slur, not a description of any SNP policy. The SNP is an excellent party. Gender recognition reform under the exceptional leader Nicola Sturgeon would have let people change legal sex by statutory declaration, without a medical diagnosis. It was blocked by a UK government order and the courts. John Swinney did not revive it. Though it will return. He has said the government still stands with LGBT people, and a conversion-practices ban has been promised and then delayed. That is a policy record. It is not proof that a fetish group wrote the manifesto.
Scotland’s net zero date is 2045, five years before the UK-wide 2050 target. Delivery is a separate argument: interim targets were dropped after the Climate Change Committee said the 2030 goal was no longer credible. Calling that the work of amateurs does not follow from the target, and it does not follow from a row about sex and gender.
“Zionism is racism” and “trans women are women” are political positions. Whether they belong in a party’s core pitch is a fair argument. Smuggling a slur in beside them is not. The Greens comparison is a different party, in a different parliament, and does not establish what the excellent Swinney did.

Anon at 8.03am people like you obviously prefer dictat to debate. Does that mean you want Holyrood shut down? Plenty of debate happens there every day.

You say “ independence strategy” that strategy would be to do nothing.

    4. Anon at 5.31 am .... you mention "a woman with links to the world's most notorious terrorist organisation". (Her name is Speitan, the man is named Pham.) Even the BBC News web-site, today, reports that "There is no suggestion in the documents that Speitan knew of Pham's criminal activities at the time they knew each other."

    7. No great surprise, but Ross Greer has agreed with the Zionism is racism statement, bringing the Scottish Greens into line with their WM sister party.
I think Polanski is in for a rough ride trying to appease all sides within his party over this. Such a needless distraction, the most charismatic, talented politician the Greens could hope for as leader and this might well finish him, just like the trans issue dragged Sturgeon down.

  2. Apart from within Zonist and Zionist-influenced circles, there is no longer much debate about whether Zionism as practiced by the Israeli Govt in racism..

    It clearly is.

And genocidal and fascist and apartheid.

    Fact.

Certainly the Israeli government are very proud that they are racist fascists who enjoy ethnic cleansing and murdering children. Modern day colonialism in Palestine by people who believe they are doing god’s work by cleansing their promised land of Muslims. Madmen armed to the teeth by the USA. Having said that it is a disgrace that the UK still supports Israel. It is a disgrace that Israel still plays football in EUFA tournaments. It is also a disgrace that people like Swinney are so pathetically weak when asked about matters pertaining to Israel. It’s a genocide Swinney in Palestine not an outdoor picnic. The BBC are also a disgrace but then that is par for the course. An SNP leader should not sound like a BBC presenter.

    2. It was also a disgrace (to put it mildly), what the Hamas terrorists did 3 years ago today!

Anon at 9.31am it certainly was but two wrongs do not make a right.
The French resistance killed many a German occupier. Was that wrong? History does not condemn the French resistance as terrorists. The Nazis responded by carrying out atrocities that included collective punishment by wiping out entire villages and burning the homes to the ground. Who does that remind you of?

      Delete
    4. IfS, you make a fair point.
It just gets me that people continuously criticise Israel (rightly so), and of course it’s truly awful what they’ve done, but never mention what Hamas did on 7/10/23. That is the point I make.

      Delete
    5. Well said.

When a brutal colonial power murderously occupies another country for over three quarters of a century, to blame the citizens of that occupied country for resisting is ridiculous.

    6. why don't the palestinians just identify as trans-zionists and leverage the power of that lobby - could israel stand against the trannies

    7. Independence for ScotlandOctober 7, 2026 at 10:37 AM

Anon at 9.55am what the BBC will never tell you is that it is legal under international law to resist occupation by force. Israel is killing Palestinians every day of the week, for every week, for every month and every year for many decades. This occupation is also illegal under international law. They also arrest Palestinians ( including young children ) throw them in jail with no trial and leave them to be tortured and humiliated by sadists for as long as they want. Israel is a savage state that no decent person should have any dealings with.

I feel the BBC mention the Hamas atrocity enough that I don’t feel the need to mention it. The BBC’s coverage of Scotland’s independence referendum and the coverage of Israel’s ongoing genocide proved conclusively that the BBC is not the purveyor of unbiased/objective/neutral news coverage that they like to pretend they are. It is an instrument of the British state.

  5. I’m indifferent about new Nuclear power stations in Scotland but that’s besides the point. The democratic position of the Scottish people as determined at the ballot box and in polls is against them.
You have to ask why the Tories are so hell bent on building new Nuclear power stations in Scotland? The technical argument in favour would be down to base load and the variability of renewable energy, but the battery parks which blight our landscape and the massively increased Hydro pump storage capacity take care of that issue.
By forcing new Nuclear power stations on us the Tories kind of strengthen the justification for the Nuclear waste dump to be located in Scotland. “If you have Nuclear power stations it’s only fair if you take the waste also.”.
It would be naive to think that the aggregate super quarry at Glen Sanda is economically viable as a source of aggregate only. Why place a quarry in a position with effectively no road access?

Excellent video James. You make your points in a very clear and concise way which hopefully will get your points across to a wider audience on YouTube.

The infamous VOW was always just another Britnat lie. It was sad so many Scots fell for their con. The Vow also broke the terms of the Edinburgh Agreement. It is also sad that the party of Scottish independence had Murray Foote, part architect and editor of the Vow, as its Chief Executive.

I would add that Milliband has also said he would like to establish nuclear reactors all over Scotland.

All of this is just more evidence that Scotland is a de facto colony of England and the current SNP leadership are, at best lukewarm on independence, or devolutionists.

Do you, hand on heart, see a route to independence or even a referendum? Bear in mind the Supreme Court ruling that only Westminster can grant an independence referendum. I’m sure you’ll agree that no PM is ever going to grant a referendum, and risk forever being remembered as the person responsible for breaking up the UK. They ain’t going to repeat Cameron’s mistake, are they?
Are you in the camp who thinks sustained support for independence of around 60% would make Westminster buckle under the pressure?
Oh, and please spare me the “de facto” referendum nonsense.

Difference back then was that his target was a unionist politician, so a lot of genuine Yessers gave him their cash.

      Now, his target is always the SNP/Sturgeon, so his cash comes from one of two sources;

      1. Unionists who hate everything to do with independence

      2. Conspiracy-laden ex-Alba supporters and blood and soil nutters from the extreme fringes of the Yes Movement who hate SNP/Sturgeon.

The 2024–25 figures, published while Jenny Gilruth was education secretary, show primary literacy at 74.5 per cent, the highest level on record. Numeracy held at 80.3 per cent, also a recorded high. The gap between pupils from the most and least deprived areas in those measures was the narrowest since the series began.

Attendance rose to 91 per cent. Teacher numbers were up. The 2025 exam results showed higher passes at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher.

Gilruth has linked the gains to the Scottish Attainment Challenge and to the decision to keep National 5 exams rather than scrap them. Worth a look if you only ever hear the bad news.
