See the SNP have agreed to give money back to folk that donated to the RING fenced referendum fund. I may see my 60 quid again but if a crime has been committed surely some in the SNP should be getting a chap on the door from PC Plod. I won’t hold my breath though.

ReplyDelete..... correct, James, I lived in Largs ... and the critical Battle fought there in 1263 between the Scots, under King Alexander, and King Hakkon of Norway was the defining defeat of the Viking influence in Scotland. You are also correct that the Norse influence was restricted to :- the Northern Isles, Western Isles and the west coast isles of Scotland. They did make some gains on the Mainland ... but limited. After the defeat of the Norse at the Battle of Largs, King Hakkon retreated to Shetland where he died. There ended the Viking invasion of Scotland .... however the Scots and the Norwegians thereafter sealed a peace deal that saw Shetland & Orkney seeded to Scotland as a pact that saw a Marital agreement between the two Countries (common at the time). It should also be pointed out that Scotland has never been defeated by force or arms :- not the Romans, nor the Vikings, nor the English ... we lost battles but we fought on till we won ... not because we wanted to conquer, but because we refused to be conquered.
ReplyDeleteI think he died in Orkney. Either way it was a defining moment. If the Norse had won we would have been split in two with the Saxons to the south and east and the Norse the north and west.
Delete... I'll have to check that again .... I was sure it was Shetland, but both of the Northern Isles were under their control .... never the less, he did Pass there ... and it was a pivotal moment in Scotland's history !!

ReplyDeleteIdiot Campbell compounding the idiocy of the civil court case which his mouth frothers are all paying for by now claiming a successful civil court case sets a “precedent” for a criminal prosecution. Words are important. He should know that from his humiliation by the most inept labour in Scotland leader Dugdale, but it looks like he is a slow learner.
ReplyDeleteHe would do well to research the operation of precedent in Scots Law. Might stop him making a further tit of himself. But the mouth frothers love it and the till will be ringing. Kerrching. His K C might even get a new extension or a hot tub out if this one. The fees will be significant.
I've not followed these things for a while, but don't the worst people in England hate the England team? During the Southgate era that was certainly the case. I recall Laurence Fox during the Euros in 2020 constantly wishing ruin on the woke scum until they actually reached the final, he realised he had misjudged the room, and had to perform a humiliating reverse ferret, pretending he'd been behind them all along. If the likes of him want them to lose, that complicates the situation somewhat
