Farage’s corruption is finally sinking in with the public, but at the moment the Tories are the main beneficiaries.
Scottish sub-sample (202)
Con 19%, Lab 17%, LibDem 8%, SNP 33%, RefUK 13%, Green 8%.
RefUK languish in distant forth.

RefUK 144 seats short of majority.
Con 119, Lab 126, LibDem 69, RefUK 212, Green 58, SNP 42, Plaid 3.
It will be a lot closer than this. Labour still have dismally few seats. England is still a sea of RefUK turquoise. Under FPTP another one of two percentage points will see a substantially mumblers of constituencies go turquoise to red. Plaid Cymru are at 37% of the Welsh sub-sample, they will take a lot of seats off RefUK.
It has to be used as a referendum. In the interim the S G must flex its limited muscle, both here and through its M Ps in Westminster. I have been saying for years that planning and H and S legislation can be imaginatively employed to make things very difficult for the U K govt. In Westminster one SNP MP must seize the ceremonial mace and remove it from the chamber every day. This must be done on a rolling DAILY basis to take account of any periods of suspension imposed. All committees must be hijacked and delayed through non cooperation. All votes must be sabotaged. Daily. And water supply pipes must go no further than the Scottish Border. Grid connections at the Scottish border must be regularly closed off for H and Safety reasons. It will take MSPs and MPs with balls. That is the real problem.,

Campbell and the diminishing number of dregs who still support him do indeed remind me of Derek Hatton and his zealots in Kinnock's time as Labour leader.
ReplyDeleteHatton was the same sort of compulsive obssessive as Campbell and the more ridiculous his ideas became, the more obssessive and compulsive he became.
Like Campbell he wanted destruction just for the sake of it and, just like Campbell, he had no idea or plan for what was to follow that destruction
Destruction became an end in itself.
Campbell is now merely a 'Hatton-Light' sitting in Bath, England and willing Scotland to go full-unionist with all that would entail for Scottish Independence, as long as the object of his obssessive compulsivs hatred, the SNP, is wiped from the face of the Earth.
The guy is in serious and obvious need of psychiatric help, as are the small clique who still give him any credence.

DeleteThe S G should refuse to interact with Sarwar in any way. Any premises he occupies in Scotland should be subjected to constant interruption by MSPs going there demanding a meeting which they then walk out of. No let up, and if he is not there, occupy the property till he turns up, and then walk out.

ReplyDeleteLooks like Rupert Murdoch is beginning to turn against Nigel Farage, going by his publications' recent articles on Nige's dodgy funders.
At the same time, most of the right wing Conservative press is busy bigging-up Kemi Badenoch.
Most polling now shows a softening of Reform support and a rise in the Tory vote in England.
I reckon Farage's time is rapidly running out now as more and more right-wingers are returning to the Conservative fold.
By the next GE, my impression is that Reform will be pretty much a spent penny south of the border and England will substantially return to the old duopoly with the Greens as a third force down there.
In Scotland, Reform has already reached that lowly status and it is entirely possible that Labour falls back behind the Tories once again.

DeleteOT. I'm not a fan of 38degrees as they used to do dodgy stuff to support Labour, including against Indy. But this action of contempt of court against a barrister for a very poor reason is a step too far, and we've seen some close to the edge stuff in Scotland too.
