Pro-independence parties WILL win majority of Holyrood seats, says swanky Survation survey - but here's why Both Votes SNP is so important

* .* .*

With barely two months of the year left to go, the 2025 Scot Goes Pop fundraiser is still short of its target figure.  If you'd like to help keep the lights on during the several months it will take me to find out whether an alternative funding model is viable (realistically it could be a wait of around four months or more), card donations are welcome HERE.  Or, if you prefer, direct donations can be made via PayPal.  My PayPal email address is:  jkellysta@yahoo.co.uk

Many thanks to everyone who has donated so far.

  1. Seems Reform is really the tories but with heavy makeup on. Sad to see the racist rants from an English MP yesterday who Farage stills support stating she didn't "really" mean it. Of course it is just the fact she was caught out but is does show that the tendency is now to speak out. Will she be arrested? As for ALBA's 1 % and 2% on the list. The really should just pack up and go home to think again. They are an embarrassment.

    1. "Will she be arrested?"

      If she is, Stew will put up her bail.

  2. I'm still really struggling to see how both votes SNP will help if we are realistically trying to maximize the Indy vote.
    I hear you say tactical voting for Indy is a mug's game but casting a huge number of list votes for a return of 1 or 2 SNP list MSPs seems self defeating when Green list votes carry so much more weight and should get us the Indy majority.
    I'll be honest, this SNP 1 and 2 argument confuses me even more than John Swinney's strategy - and that's really saying something!

    1. I've probably written more about the importance of using your list vote for your first choice party (which for SNP supporters translates to Both Votes SNP) than pretty much any other subject on this blog over the years, so there's a danger of boring people to tears if I go over it for the seventeen billionth time. But there's plenty in the archives of the blog (to put it mildly), and there are also two videos - a debate I did with Tommy Sheridan, and a video about the voting system I made with Phantom Power.

    2. Well said James. The tactical voting on the list nonsense is an even more infantile, unscientific fad than trans ideology.

  3. So Craig Murray is off to Corbyn. What will Ash Regan do?
    Corbyn even from his heady days as a councillor in London was pro Irish but never pro Scots independence. His tendency is a centrist britnat.

    1. Ash Regan has already said she's standing as an independent. The more interesting question is what will Mad Dog McEleny do, and how will that tie in with Regan's plans.

  4. I rarely let any of KC's posts through, but I was almost tempted tonight. He said something like "over eleven years after a referendum Alex Salmond described as once in a generation, people are still talking about independence". Don't think you quite thought that one through, old chap.
