I've been elected to the SNP's Policy Development Committee

As I posted three times last week to plug my candidacy in the SNP's internal elections, here's a quick video update on how I fared in the results.

  1. Good. Our branch had an 'independista' elected to the NEC. Toeholds despite a bad reverse on the amendments.

  2. Congratulations James. That's good news for the SNP and independence. As a retail organisation would say: " Every little helps".

  3. Fantastic and congrats. You're in touch with the stats and the wider Indy movement, so hopefully things will improve.

This ain't great, but I did a little work on it. My opinion of course:

"Update after Oct 2025 SNP Conference: Self-determination is the route to Independence, but its exercise by Scotland is obstructed by the UK State, and the Scottish Parliament is hobbled and humiliated by the Scotland Act, despite democratic Elections in Scotland every 4 or 5 years.

What the SNP need to do is campaign for BOTH the restoration of Self-determination AND Independence, and firmly with no slithery mess of pottage such are mumbles. They need to appeal to both YES and moderate NOes to get an overall majority. Then they need to restore Self-determination first Bill of all in the new session of Holyrood (e.g. repeal the Scotland Act or other), and then pass the Bill for the referendum to let Scotland decide.

  4. Brilliant news James.

    Well done.

  5. Interesting that Poluce Scotland seem to have downgraded the 'threat' posed by Palestine Action and will no longer be arresting those just supporting them and the UK Govt have just lost their attempt to block a legal challenge to the banning of that organisation, which will now go ahead.

    Good news on both fronts.

  7. Good news. 👍 Too many Home Rulers over-egging the pot up till now. New chance for independence supporters to add some baking powder to the mix before switching on the food processor to Fast.

  8. Great news. Hopefully the work of the PDC will be more about independence and less about toilets.

  10. Starmer issues a statement that no 10 is working at pace to bring to Birmingham football hooligans from, of all places, a country whose Prime Minister is a wanted war criminal. An absolute disgrace that this is a priority of Starmer. Looks more and more like his wife is the boss and they are planning to move to Israel to avoid prosecution. A UK Home Secretary says it's anti Semitic not to let a bunch of football hooligans into the UK.
In other news Trump PRAISES Zelensky's jacket and overall appearance.

    What a crazy world.

    2. Guess who pops up on the news saying the Israeli football hooligans should be allowed to attend the match. Edinburgh's biggest Britnat Ian Murray. Thankfully he wisnae wearing his Union Jack suit. I might have known he was another Labour lover of a genocide. I wonder how much Murray has had from Friends of Israel.

    4. So Declan is that your Irish personality and Ross is your Scottish personality. So out of the multiple voices in your head what is Scottish Skier. Is that the personality that likes checking out public toilets. Skier has been raging ever since his beloved self ID was booted in to touch. What are your preferred pronouns for all these voices in your head then Declan. I'm guessing you prefer " they". Sturgeon took you down the rabbit hole and then left you looking like you truly are - a fool.

    5. It's downright provocation. Birmingham is 30% Muslim.

    6. It looks like Starmer is trying to destroy Labour and make sure he is the all time most disliked PM. I mean to be worse than Liz Truss. Unbelievable the Britnats in Scotland still want to sing Rule Britannia and be governed by these people. It shows the extent to which they have been colonised over the last 300 odd years.

  14. I see Sturgeon is now a book seller as she trails around England selling her book in town halls. I had a good laugh at Campbell turning up with two pictures on his t shirt - back and front. One was a front page of a newspaper stating Salmond was cleared of all charges and the other was a front page of a newspaper covering the UK court decision on what a women is. Only someone like Sturgeon could have been a main player in both these matters. Personally I would have chosen to put a picture of a luxury motor home on the t - shirt.
Sturgeon the so called independence leader who dragged the SNP down in to the gutter now traipsing around England. No doubt telling them she is British you know, just like them, to sell her tawdry book.
Whatever happened to the top international job the WGD numpties and SGP trolls claimed she would pick up. Will these numpties ever be right about anything? Surely they must get something right at some point just through luck.

    1. You almost made a reasonable post there till you included the campervan (yes the one properly disclosed in the accounts) nonsense, showing that you either fell for the Westminster ordered police smear campaign against Sturgeon or that you are, as most on here suspect, really a long term idiot troll. Plenty to criticise Sturgeon for. Just not the campervan nonsense. Cue ifsy’s (anon, cough cough) little helpers running to his defence. So near ifsy, yet so far. And remember when you told us all that NS had the police and prosecution service up here in her back pocket? So many contradictions from you. A wee quandary for you now. And surprised to see you so pleased with the activities of the Israel/Netanyahu fan that lives in Bath. Are there two IFSy posters? Almost as though you don’t think things through before posting.

      Delete
    2. You can always rely on this anon troll to post lies about me. Unlike you anon I stick to the issue at hand not the person so no there is no contradiction. Properly disclosed in the Accounts says the troll. A perfect example of someone pissing in my ear and telling me it's raining.

You should see a doctor about that cough. You are such a diddy you do not know the difference between a campervan and a luxury motor home. Accuracy when posting has never been your strongpoint.

It looks like it's time to remind the forgetful troll once again that Sturgeon's husband has been charged with embezzlement and Sturgeon was the subject of a Police report to the COPFS. COPFS took over 6 months to consider whether to press charges against Sturgeon. As a Sturgeon fan I'm not sure why you keep going back to this subject. Perhaps YOU don't think things through before posting.

      Delete
    3. Possibly your most moronic post yet, reduced to arguing about saying campervan or luxury home. Was it disclosed in the accounts or not? Thanks for reinforcing my point about your stupidity. Feel free to address the points I actually made. You do not need to remind me of anything. You talked about Sturgeon, not her husband. Simple question. After an extensive and lengthy police investigation what has Nicola Sturgeon been charged with? And why did you say in the past that she had the police and prosecution service in her pocket? Oops. In your own time you cretin. At least you do reply under IFS and not one of your anon guises. And please think things through before you post more contradictions and lies. So near IFSy, but still so far. You’ve got lots to do. Get on with it. Dismissed.

    5. 2.35pm My worst nightmare is that people like you are actually independence supporters.

    6. Anon troll at 1.35pm there is no argument about the motorhome. So you don't know the difference between a campervan and a luxury motor home. Nor do you know the difference between an argument and a statement of fact. That makes you dim and not very nice.
You are on the other hand are very good at posting lies. The motorhome is in a polis compound and the ex SNP Chief Exec and husband of Sturgeon is on embezzlement charges of monies over the period he was reporting to Sturgeon. Not a good look is it. Is that why she has to travel the country hocking her book rather than the top international job anon trolls like you said she would walk straight in to.

Oops, dismissed, IFSy - terms only used by a [ redacted ]. That [ redacted ] Swinney is at it again.

      Delete
    7. Why did the party treasurer at the time go on camera to say he knew nothing about the motorhome before suddenly 'remembering' after Nicola had a word in his ear?😂

      Delete
    8. It was never in the accounts. The word campervan or motorhome never appeared in the accounts. Ring fenced funds did appear but then miraculously got woven in to the accounts and disappeared never to be seen again. The SNP ‘s long standing accountants also quickly left as did the various SNP elected audit officials and Treasurer. Yet people like 1.35pm try to gaslight you that everything is just fine. This poster wants you to believe that you buy a campervan then sit it on Murrells mothers driveway for years doing nothing and that is normal and nothing to see here. Move on now.
      1.35 pm you are dismissed.

    10. Anon at 6.19. Stop telling lies. As for Ifsy , and his numerous posts on here, they simply confirm what we all know. He is thick as mince. You appear to be the same. And try thinking up your own sentences , or is that too difficult for you? And take a wee night class in accounts. Off you toddle you silly billy you.

    11. The vehicle is in the accounts. It cost £100,790 in 2020. It is simply under motor vehicles which is standard nomenclature in business accounts for such things. Whether it is a campervan or a luxury motor home is irrelevant for accounting purposes. I am not sure about their decision to depreciate at 20% reducing balance. These sort of vehicles, especially one with such a low mileage, tend to hold their value rather better than that. If the police ever return the thing the party can sell it and return the funds to the accounts.

Whether Murrell had the authority to make such a purchase even if it was placed on the books is another matter. Time will tell whether prosecution decide to continue or not. They are taking an awfully long time to ponder over a very straight forward issue.

      Delete
    12. Anon at 5.24. You made that up. What a sad wee life you lead. Telling lies on a forum to appear relevant and important.

      Delete
    13. Then why did the party treasurer say he knew nothing about it on tv? Does he not look at the accounts? Face facts, the whole business was a scam to rip off the indyref2 money because Sturgeon never had any intentions of holding one.

    14. Hand - you are the problem. It was hidden under that heading. Nobody knew that a motor home was hiding in plain sight. Unbelievable how people keep excusing dodgy behaviour because it happened in the SNP. Where are the ring fenced funds Hand?

My first reply pointed out that one problem is people demanding others are "taken in" because they have a different opinion, and not surprisingly IFS disagrees with that because he thinks everybody should have the same opinion as him or indeed the same opinion as someone whose opinion is that some people are taken in by Swinney.

But IFS has a second and bigger problem, in that he thinks he knows what their opinion is even when they haven't expressed their opinion in the reply he's replying to, except to have a problem with people demanding others have the same opinion as them.

In my opinion, IFS is confused.

  22. The Spookocracy is (illadvisedly) stepping out from behind the curtain. Not content with placing their sock puppets (Starmer, Lammy, Mahmood, Phillipson, Cooper, etc.) in power, Ken McCallum now tries to micromanage. The priority bogeyman is China (‘till it reverts back to Russia at a time of the Security Service’s choosing).
Scotland on Sunday leads with a scare story about Scot Gov “wooing” a Chinese company to construct a £1.5 billion facility to build wind turbines. And this is “controversial” and a threat to “national security concerns” how exactly?
Quite apart from anything else, optimum efficiency turbines require rare earth magnets, which the Chinese have a monopoly over. The development will bring much needed jobs for the real economy.
Ken McCallum cares nothing for this. He is an empire builder. His “hundreds of terror plots” which are averted are a false negatives. The proposition is simply; “You give me a £4 billion pa budget, and there’s no blood on the streets. Therefore my budget is necessary.”.
The startlingly few “terror plots” that do make it to Court, have MI5 agent provocateurs at the heart of them. Vulnerable individuals are coaxed into vaguely nefarious actions (they would never otherwise engage in) before the Security Services swoop in and “save the day”.
Then there’s the preposterous Salisbury / Skripal / Novichok nonsense. Pure Kabuki theatre to manipulate the masses. It matters not for a jot to the BBC, et al, that the official narrative breaks several laws of science.

  23. The Scottish Sun on Sunday leads with a front page splash that Scotland’s drug kingpin, Ross McGill has fled Dubai, and is now “holed up in China”. For the avoidance of doubt, this will be Macau, and not actually territory under the direct control of the Chinese authorities. The story is another Security Services plant.
McGill would have been prominent “person of interest” to MI5 when he ran the Rangers’, Ultra, hooligan squad, the Union Bears. The connections between the Union Bears, and (drug trafficking) Ulster Loyalist, terror groups will have been a high priority for Thames House. MI5 were likely well aware of McGill’s, Class A drug empire before he fled to Dubai. McGill will have structured the Union Bears as a front for his gangster activities. The perfect, Ishutinist model of illegal conspiracies being concealed within a legal cell structure, like nesting, Russian dolls.
