Anas and the Apocalypse: Labour face TOTAL WIPEOUT in Scotland as SNP run riot in history-making YouGov crossbreak

The Scottish subsample from the latest GB-wide YouGov poll is extraordinary, not just for the scale of the SNP lead, but also because it shows Labour on course to lose all of their Scottish seats at Westminster - not even Ian Murray would be left standing.  Find out all about it in today's YouTube commentary - you can watch via the embedded player below, or at the direct YouTube link.

  1. It'll be very sad to lose Ian Murray as an MP. He is a political giant that few democratic countries could boast of having in their national legislatures. After he loses his seat I hope some kind-hearted lady or gentleman from the Labour Party will reward Mr Murray with a seat in the House of Lards with access to generous expenses, subsidised dining and a pillow. If all goes well, he might never need to return to Edinburgh. Mr Mureay, your contribution to national life has been signal.

    1. Exactly. And he'll be just as useless to Scotland in the Lords.

  3. Some might say this is a terrible result for IFS. Probably all part of his masterplan for alba though.

    2. IFS has to let this result slide away and be prepared to talk tonight if they want the SNP gone.

  4. James,
Could you please show in print on the website the polls on which you are commenting in the videos. I like to study them at length. I also like to look back on older ones. The still at the beginning of the videos where the poll figures appear usually has the play arrow obliterating the middle of the screen, and as soon as you hit play, they are gone.
    Thanks.

  5. Not my constituency, but if Fergus Ewing defeats Emma Roddick next year I will rejoin the SNP.

    1. Rejoin now and defeat him?

    2. I am in that constituency and wonder if Roddick (and few others who're not too keen on science) get solidly rejected might it provide the impetus for a new broom of SNP candidates who can bring regular people onside.

    3. Why not join the Fergus Ewing party ?

    4. What's it called?

    5. It needs more than Roddick to go. Most of the current cabinet for a start. Remember they still want to ignore the law. They are the self appointed guardians of all matters gender, irrespective of binding court decisions.

  6. James, maybe I missed it but I don't think you mention Reform on 19% winning seats? Not that I want them to win any.

    1. They're on zero seats in the projection (on the assumption their vote is too evenly spread).

    2. Unionists are very, very tactical voters; especially in WM elections. They moved around tremendously after their nightmares came true in 2015.

I suspect they will again, as the election campaign brings home to them the new state of play. They will coalesce, it's what they do.

    3. 11.17 Why wouldn't they? All the Unionist parties are interchangeable anyway?

  7. My guess, only that, is that of SLAB's current WM parliamentarians only Ian Murray holds his seat. If that happens (again) then his standing in what remains of Labour would surely rise.

  8. Labour UK wide is failing dramatically in its attempt at the old trick of trying to defeat an opponent by becoming it. It needed a proper snake oil salesperson like Trump to have any chance. With a mean spirited stiff like Starmer 'the S bend calls...'
In England rightist populism surges. Unless that implodes some sort of united front between Farage and a rump of tories is likely. Bye bye Scottish devolution as anything more than a pension plan for a few favoured troughers.
Swinney is going to try to hold the line against any rise of radical self determinationism within the SNP until someone 'reliable' can take over allowing him to retire.
The urgency of the fight to reprioritise the SNP towards independence is rising. We have to be able to fight coming major elections with a well argued case that only independence can secure a well being economy , social inclusion and improved democracy.
Time is short, the present SNP is woefully inadequate for this task. All who want a decent future should be getting into the fight for the party asap.
