‘The last time a Labour leader other than Tony Blair won a UK general election, Rebecca Long-Bailey and Lisa Nandy hadn’t yet been born.’https://t.co/MVmqjFWjMp
— Stephen Daisley (@JournoStephen) February 24, 2020
I'm not sure what this says about Stephen's beloved Scottish Tories, because the last time a Tory leader other than Sir Anthony Eden won a general election in Scotland was half-a-century before Stephen was born. In 1935. But hey, that's completely different, yeah?
He'll be saying the honeymoon's over for the SNP again, he says it every year but this year he's more confident because Annie Wells told him right after Jackson Carlaw wrote down the words for her to repeat, and he's promised her and Stephen Daisley brand new one careful owner Ford Capri's each
ReplyDeleteThere's never really been a general election in Scotland, if you want to try to be pedantic...
ReplyDeleteActually if you really want to be pedantic, what you've just said is self-evidently untrue. You'll need to be much more tricksy with your wording if you want to appeal to pedantry successfully.
DeleteOK, I'll be Trixie -- it was the Unionist Party rather than the Tory Party that achieved... whatever it achieved between 1912 and 1965.
DeleteDon't feel that you have to send me my George V half-sovereign by Special Courier.
Even Trixier is the mind-bending fact that since the formation of the Liberal Party in 1865, Right-wing parties got the largest share of MPs in Scotland only 6 times out of 41 general elections, and only ONCE (1902 I believe) as the Conservative Party.
DeleteHow did the Spanish coal strike against fascism ( you call it Andalusian 1934 ?) Effect 1935 and beyond. ?? you
DeleteRussia and Turkey are both members of the ECHR. It's only 'Europe's last dictatorship' Belarus that isn't.
ReplyDeleteOverruling elections for a generation, hardening borders, mass registration of non-British 'aliens', withdrawal from international peace deals and human rights treaties... Europe will soon have a last and a new dictatorship.

Britain ready to reject EU demands on human rights laws - Sunday Telegraph
(Reuters) - Britain is preparing to reject EU demands to guarantee that the country will continue to be bound by European human rights laws once the UK becomes fully independent, the Sunday Telegraph reported.
Oh, and except England isn't becoming fully 'independent' as it's a cowardly, pathetic, weak, chickenshit nation that's too scared to get off its lazy freeloading ass and stand on its own two feet, hence no section 30.
England has a recent history of putting people in concentration camps and massacring them. Some examples below.
DeleteAnd now it is moving to take away Scottish / Welsh / N. Irish human rights; something even Vladimir Putin won't sign up to.
https://medium.com/@1988broliveira/when-the-british-built-concentration-camps-in-kenya-5a92bb7336f0
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/nov/30/maumau-massacre-secret-files
of course the Scot Gov is prepared to let this happen to the Scottish people, a indy ref would stop this from happening but its too chickenshit to protect its people by holding one, hence no referendum.
DeleteHow can the Scottish government be cowardly when England is 10 x the size, has a massive army (with Scotland none), and is nuclear armed?
DeleteYou are just making yourself look stupid in front of everyone (as has happened throughout your life).
Everyone in the world understands that the Scottish government need to tread carefully. England is going full scale racist nationalist rogue nation. Jeez, even Russia is ECHR.
That aside, England as a country is chickenshite. And entire nation of freeloading waster cowards (in majority). By contrast, at most a few Scottish politicians might be if you are partly right.
Almost all Scots are not MSPs (the Scottish government you refer to includes all parties, not just the SNP, so are saying the Tories, Lab, Libs etc are cowards too).
DeleteSo, we have, if you are sort of right:
Scots voted for iref2 = brave people
English voted against Scottish iref2 = pathetic, weak, cowardly people
As i said a couple of days ago, countries that have not been happy with what Westminster did to them, left its control. Size had nothing to do with it. The Scot Gov are to chickenshit to do the same (hence no support from other world leaders - they don't want to be seen supporting a weak Government).
DeleteAs i said indy stops all the nasty things you seem to have so much joy in writting about. Scot Gov has decided not to use its powers to deliver that, hence is obviously happy with its citizens to be subjected to them.
What do you know about my life...that sounds a bit creepy, have you been spying on me?
My Irish grandmother told me stories of how the English killed raped and burned their way through Ireland after overturning the 1918 (election) vote for independence. My Kenyan workmates have warned me of similar; they got put in concentration camps and massacred for seeking indy.
DeleteThe Scottish government should tread carefully here. No rash snap votes lest England gets violent, as it did in many colonies.
Can you show me were the English voted for indyref2? Obviously i'm talking about it being in a parties manifesto that a vote for them would be blocking indyref2
DeleteThe Tories were the party of no Section 30, as stated by May (who said No to one) then Johnson. 'Vote for use to stop iref2' was all over their election material. I have some examples on my desk.
DeleteWestminster MPs of all parties could vote vote through a Section 30 bypassing Johnson but choose not to. I see no demands from English people (protests, campaigns, newspaper articles) demanding Scotland's vote be respected.
...Because polling also shows that of those giving a view, a majority are opposed to a Section 30.
And again, Scotland needs to take care about any vote as England is known for reacting violently to suppress democracy. England has clearly stated it will not respect any indy vote (no Section 30), and if you don't respect a vote, it means you are ready to overturn it in the way you have done before, including with violence.
If you were planning violence, then the first thing you'd do would be to withdraw from ECHR. You'd also start planning for / threatening 'no deal' in terms of trade in case international partners try to help Scotland by using this to put pressure on England.
You'd also purge senior opposition in the government (chancellor would be no 1 target) and the civil service (home office would be the fist target) and replace them with your own minions.
You'd also 'sort the judges' to stop them using the law to stop you.
Deletehttps://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/boris-johnson-judicial-review-supreme-court-challenge-downing-street-a9285276.html
It's clear for anyone with half a brain to see where the England is going. As an Irish citizen, I will warn Scots to be very careful in case England turns violent, as it did when my gran was wee.
Oh dear:
ReplyDelete"In leaked emails obtained by The Mail on Sunday, powerful Treasury adviser Tim Leunig argues that the food sector is not 'critically important' to the economy - and that agriculture and fishery production 'certainly isn't'. In his astonishing remarks - which comes as the UK prepares to enter crunch post-Brexit trade talks with Donald Trump - Dr Leunig implies that the UK could follow the example of Singapore 'which is rich without having its own agricultural sector'. "
The security of the food and drink sector is massively important.
DeleteI hold this truth to be self-evident and anyone who disagrees is a lying bladder.
(I'm still feeling somewhat bilious.)
RTE has a nice reflective piece on the growing integration of Irish politics and its place on the world stage. Big picture changes composed of any smaller moments.
ReplyDeleteTory tribe helping it all along through continuing dereliction of what they should see as their duty under the holy shroud of unionism
Sinn Fein surging ahead in the latest polls. Another election would see them take a further swath of seats, particularly if FG and FF try to sneakily join together and take power again, even though they lost.

ReplyDeletehttps://www.rte.ie/news/analysis-and-comment/2020/0229/1119391-mary-lou-barbarians/
I honestly can't believe that after, in living memory, English troops shot and killed members of my family simply for wanting the result of an election to be respected, some unionists are calling the Scottish government 'cowards' for treading carefully on iref2.
ReplyDeleteNot only that, but this is happening while the UK is moving to withdraw from international treaties, including those protecting human rights, that even Russia is signed up to.
Take a look yourselves. I have Kenyan + Indian colleagues too who know all about what England/Britain does if you want independence. Sturgeon and co should be extremely careful here lest England start killing Scots like it has done to the natives of other former colonies across the globe. The massacres were always preceded by some form of section 30 refusal.
French TV explaining how Scotland would be richer than France and Germany if independent. Hence why freeloading England is too cowardly to go it alone, so no Section 30.
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/80_mcswan/status/1233749051218317313
Frogs and Nazis have an interest in splitting the UK especially when they have Scottish Nat sis crawling to them.
DeleteThe English government are liars, always have been, and they don't care that every other country in the world knows it as long as the idiots in their own country don't
ReplyDeleteF**k me! Tony's turning into a zombie!
ReplyDeleteComparisons with other countries demanding/gaining independence must always factor in that they probably had clear majorities for independence.
ReplyDeleteIf you have clear sustained majority you can be more bolshie and defiant.
If you don't, you have to be a bit more cautious and respectful of the wishes of the other half of the population you are trying to govern.
That doesn't mean being cautious forever but the key is to get soft Nos to realise Scotland is being increasingly damaged by the Union and her democracy being denied. Maybe an indyref campaign of itself would do that, but until Brexit deal (or no deal) finally done, the penny won't finally drop for some.
Ireland voted 70% for indy+full home rule parties in 1918.
DeleteThey went ahead with the will of the people to set up a parliament, respecting the result, and England immediately started shooting, raping and pillaging.
So we need to be cautious even at 70% yes because England doesn't do democracy; not unless you vote the way it wants.
You can bet your bottom dollar a yes in 2014 would have been overturned. The no section 30 confirms what I worried about back then.
Most don't have clear majority. USA was split 1/3 stay, 1/3 go,1/3 I don't know. By 1780 it was prob 40 to go, 20 to stay. Brits burned DC in 1814?? And thought they would be welcomed as heroes cuz Americans loved them. Scotland has a clearer case by popularity and economics than almost anyone else.
DeleteYes,it is of course important to respect views of unionists. But in a democracy 50% + 1 is a majority.
ReplyDeleteThe Unionists won by over 1% 2014. You tits did not respect that result Scottish Nat sis have achieved something for the first time in our history, they are campaigning to be run by other countries.
DeleteIt's not so much a matter of respecting the views of unionists (though that is part of it). It's a part of there being a necessary conversion of unionists to independence supporters (or indirectly unionists -> non voters and non-voters -> independence supporters).
Delete50%+1 is enough to win a referendum but not enough to defy or threaten to defy the law, or otherwise to take matters into our own hands.
For example civil disobedience or UDI could be seen by outsiders as legitimate in cases where there is clear oppression of a people, but not where the desire for independence is only 50%+1.
So for example civil disobediance by an actual government would not be a good look, as long as a nation is as divided as we currently are.
That part is beyond a matter of respect for unionists but about seeking recognition by other nations.
Such a nostalgic time 2014 must be for you.Times are changing.
DeleteStill to read last post.My reply was to GWC
DeleteNostalgia was 8 May 1945 when the Nazis surrendered. Unfortunately you Scottish Nat sis are nostalgic about the Nazis.
DeleteIndy voters can only respect the Yes vote the made in 2014 by voting the same way again. It's not possible for them to disrespect the result (unless they voted No in iref2).
DeleteIt is only unionist voters who can reverse the No vote they made in 2014.
So the 'nats' can't overturn 2014, only the GWCs can.
No we will not, it is up to you Nazis.
Delete@GWC
ReplyDeleteThe German people and the military surrendered to end the war not the Nazis
German people are not Nazis, the Nazis continue to this day in the shape of Tories and their attached battalions of Orange Lodge and bigot right wing Unionists
Don't you recognise yourself
Here's an example of Nazism.
DeleteThis was exactly the sort of thing they did as they started to take control of Germany against the will of German people (they never managed a majority in parliament).
First they came for the pro-Europeans...
https://www.theguardian.com/books/2020/mar/01/british-museum-put-mary-beard-on-the-board-despite-downing-st-veto
Mary Beard blocked by No 10 as British Museum trustee 'for pro-Europe views'
Maybe because she was fascinated by the Romans and Roman Catholic descendents.
DeleteAnd that is also why everyone who supports Scottish Indpendence anger has to be directed to the neofascists in Westminster and not the English people .That way we should be able to convert soft No'ers to Indy
DeleteI saved you Scottish Nationalist Catholics from the Islamic Hordes and you have not responded with your appreciation. I only invaded the Middle East and had Gaddafi killed for our true Catholic faith and yet you deny me. No more baskets of fish and bread for you Jocks.
ReplyDeleteSo it turns out today that Scotland isn't the drug death capital of Europe at all, it's England wouldn't you know because apparently prescription drug deaths in England are not counted as illegal drug deaths but in Scotland all drug death by overdose is counted in this way
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly the same method the Westmister lot used to cover up their A&E targets by not recoring people until treatment began whereas in Scotland the clock starts ticking the minute a patient registers, and despite all this Scotlands A&E outperforms England NHS by 16% per head of population
So you have to settle for being second worse in Europe.
DeletePlease provide the source for this statistic.Or is it as usual just your opinion?
DeleteBeen aware of this for some time. The big question is why do the independence politicians appearing on TV never use this information to counteract the Scotland is rubbish propaganda put out by the scumbag Britnats. Why not????
DeleteBecause its not true, prescription drug deaths are counted in the statistics.
DeleteThe 'clock starts at admission' as well not treatment:
The waiting time target for patients in A&E is currently set to 4 hours from arrival to admission, transfer or discharge.
Hence why not used by Scottish politicians.
As drug control is a Westminster reserved matter, drug death data for Scotland cannot be compared to any other country as it's not a country in this policy area. The comparison is statistically meaningless. It's like comparing 'Scotland's' army and nuclear arsenal with that of other states; it's utter nonsense.
DeleteScottish drug deaths must be added to E/W/NI deaths and all called 'British', as Britain is the country for policy areas that are not fully devolved.
So, we can only compare 'British' drug deaths with statistics for other countries. Scottish drug deaths are 100% British.
However, we can conclude that England is intentionally killing Scottish people by keeping drug policy reserved while doing nothing to address the higher 'regional' rates of deaths in some areas of Scotland.
That 1935 is following/ during the Spanish coal strike against fascism. Thus got Tories a win or did Tories opposition to strike cause it to lose in future. As an American, I do not know. Any help?
ReplyDeleteA lot of sense above, some not so and the usual boot scrapings from GWC.
ReplyDeleteIt's true that indy doesn't yet have an unassailable lead. It's true that the British state has no respect for majorities when the wealth of its parasite elite is challenged. It's also true that the british elite is willing to operate state terrorism to protect its position.
None of these should ever be forgotten but my gripe is easier to resolve. The SNP leadership has been failing for some time now to maximise our ability to build the indy majority. How ? By not fully mobilising to campaign for YES on a daily basis. We all know that thousands of us have wear a second YES hat to get that work done. Many thousands of SNP members are not active for YES because they are not called out by the leadership.
That is not "caution". It is control freakery and dereliction !
If it goes on, and is aggravated by head in the sand 'both votes SNPery'it will cause splits and demotivation.
We do have to wait for the uk crisis to deepen but we don't have to wait passively.
Your post has a total sense of defeatism. A further referendum will be based on whether Scotland remains in the Union or is surrendered to EU rule.
DeleteYou've been reading all the 12 year olds wall daubings on Wings infants corner of the we hate Nicola Sturgeon comments forum, see Stuart Campbell for more poisonous pronouncements for the Baaa lambs to follow
DeleteReally glad I recently got my nice burgundy passport that allows me to love, live and work freely in well over 30 other countries visa free, instead of the below shitty black looking one that only allows me entry to the racist, cowardly, parochial little nation next door.
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/ukhomeoffice/status/1234387968661438465
The border guards may not let you enter passport or not.
DeleteIt's you that will have problems with your black one.
DeleteHolders are entitled to have their free movement brought to an end.
What is it with Nationlists and their obsesion with the colour of passports?
DeleteUK passport holders continue to have access to free movement in the EU until 31st December 2020. After that they don't (unless the extension period is extended). The colour of your passport, black, blue, burgundy or sky blue pink makes no difference.
"GWCMarch 2, 2020 at 3:16 PM
DeleteThe border guards may not let you enter passport or not. "
Is at discretion of President Jamez. But we need your credit card for few minutes and those numbers on the back.
And now you will tell us why you were "viewing Minster in York" and why you now come in our country. Is very easy for someone to say you are spreading virus.
As a unionist, I'm happy that my passport is the same colour as most other passports. I really don't see the need for another colour; that's something British nationalists want.
DeleteNo Deal Brexit odds on certainty now if Herr Johnson continues with his bluff tactics to the EU as Danish fishermen and others say *you can take back all the control you want but unless the English are prepared to eat an awful lot of fish themselves who are they going to sell it to with tarrifs so high it'll be impossible to sell*
ReplyDeleteEngjoy your Herring England, y'know the fish you don't eat anyway, because that's what Herr Johnson thinks he's playing at, in pretending to deny them Herring and other fish they eat he could put the fishing industry out of business in order to secure England a great American deal on chlorinated chicken and hormone injected beef and no fish at all from them
But who cares eh it's only Scotland that will be most affected by the great Johnson oven ready deal
Fresh 'fruit de mer' is something the UK (mainly Scotland) actually exports, almost ubiquitously to the EU. In return, we buy the food that we can't grow in the UK because its too cold.
DeleteThe UK cannot realistically sell fresh seafood to anywhere else in the world other than the EU due to shelf life (and if CO2 targets are to be met). If there are serious customs barriers, even this could be in jeopardy due to delays at ports.
So at best the fishing industry might swap to lower value frozen products, taking a huge income hit. The french turn their noses up at frozen fruit de mer in the restaurants of Paris, where they currently love our fresh Scots shellfish.
England is going to destroy the Scots fishing industry because it's Scottish. If the industry was English, it would be looked after.
But I suppose we can stop eating fresh fruits and just eat pickled herring while being worse off, all so we can have a passport that appears Nazi black in colour under ambient light.
I will just go on holiday to Seton Sands like in the old days. The krauts were unable to make Eiswein this year due to the hot climate so no point in travelling so far.
DeleteI get tired of all this "Scotland voted Tory in 1955" stuff. Scotland voted for the Unionist Party which was arguably to the left of Tony Blair. No attempts at privatisation, no threat to the National Health, and a policy to have "Home Rule" for the nationalised industries. They were traditionally suspicious of over-centralisation in London. Doesn't sound ANYTHING like modern Scottish Tories to me.
ReplyDeleteThe Unionist Party was an independent Scottish party registered here only. Scotland has never voted (English Conservative) Tory.
Deletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unionist_Party_(Scotland)
When the English conservatives took over the SUP, its long term decline began.
It's quite interesting to trace the seeds of things. The fact that Labour dropped its commitment to Home Rule at its 1957 conference also “hacked off” a small but significant minority.
DeleteAnd the first upsurge for the SNP was four years later, in the Glasgow Bridgeton by-election. (GWC shid be awfie prood o that.)
As I recall, the '55 election result hinged on the Unionist Party's promise to end rationing. Labour wanted it to continue (plus ca change)
DeleteI see Wingsy party Stuart Campbell's had another account suspended from Twitter, shouldn't be too long before this poisonous weasel is gone altogether
ReplyDeleteOf more concern is the name of the suspended account, which suggests he hasn't given up on the crazy idea of putting up candidates against the SNP next year.
DeleteThe Wings website is now filled with hatred and bile mostly directed at the FM by a whole load of people who never posted before, it's as though he's encouraging this behavious to promote his own personal agenda by allowing this site to fester completely unmonitered
DeleteProof that James Kelly is a Mikey Small fanboi.
DeleteJames Kelly is dealing with what's in front of him like most normal people, unlike Wingsy who only believes in democracy if it's done his way, if not his true colours show as a subversive wee Nigel Farage who sets out to destroy what he doesn't like
ReplyDeleteThere's a name for people like that, Tory is one of them, then you get the far left Tory who becomes a facist just like the far right, anything to achieve the vision, but it's certainly not democracy
Blogger Stuart Campbell banned from Twitter for creating multiple accounts for abusive purposes
ReplyDeleteCampbell said he did nothing wrong and will appeal
He says stuff like this a lot but if Twitter says you're abusive then it's pretty stick on that you are (and he is) because they let people away with a lot
You EU loving Nat sis are definitely split. A hard brexit will take Scotland forward. More trade with RUK the USA and beyond. The EU Empire will not last as long as the British.
DeleteSeems Twitter banning someone before they've done anything wrong?
DeleteThere is something unsavoury about the power of a single American company to interfere in our public life.
Even if I wasn't thinking the world necessarily needed a new political party apparently concerned with independence and genitals.
Most real men have a good scratch on the genitals on waking. What Scottish nancies do is for the imagination.
Delete@LurkerNoMore
DeleteI bet you don't know that Donald Trump and friends have just bought a huge stake in the ownership of Twitter
Stuart Campbell has done a lot wrong and anybody who hasn't noticed this is either a supporter or not paying attention
From an environmental perspective, surely it would be better to have a free trade deal with our EU neighbours, than a country US 3000 miles away! But then again, humans are greedy destroying our planet is a minor inconvenient issue. Global warming PM Johnson is a denier so US here we come.
ReplyDeleteYes, just as I said earlier. To reduce our carbon footprint, it makes the most sense to trade as much as possible with our nearest neighbours. We could even exchange goods using electric transport powered by renewables.
DeleteBy contrast, trading with the USA and Australia means huge transport emissions as there is no realistic alternatives to fuel oils for air and ocean freight.
There is regular shipping between the UK, Ireland, Europe African etc. All causing emissions. You Nat sis have never been fond of the USA.
DeleteIt would make sense to cancel brexit negotiations in the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteMost businesses are now restricting travel to all but mission critical. International gatherings such as conferences are being cancelled as this is precisely how you spread things across the world. I work in oil and gas and all companies are stopping travel unless its completely unavoidable.
Are negotiators going to go into 2 weeks quarantine each time they come back to the UK / arrive in Europe? The should do really as they are high risk. If a single person at the negotiations gets it, the game is completely up. What a mess that would be if teams are dropping like flies, especially if they then go on to pass it to others, causing deaths.
It would be simple enough to extend the transition period and delay negotiations for a year or so until the coronations is under control. Sometimes its best to put lives before politics. England is going for brexit; this wouldn't stop that, just be a sensible temporary strategy.
Likewise, anyone suggesting the Scottish government should immediately plan and hold a new referendum + associated campaign and if they don't they're cowards, is not right in the head. The most they can do at present is lay further groundwork.
DeleteNothing stopping a section 30 of course, as that's open ended.
'Coronations'. Don't you just love auto-correct!
DeleteObviously there is the economic impact too. Business are going to have a seriously tough year already, so don't need some hair-brained, rushed through, hard brexit to deal with on top of that.
DeleteComplete insanity:
Delete“Ministers and officials are considering the trade-off between allowing an acute outbreak, from which the economy would rebound more quickly, and trying to save more lives by imposing restrictions on mass gatherings and transport.”
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/emergency-laws-to-help-fight-against-coronavirus-c8j0w5lmt
The bet is that the virus is not as bad as feared and that a miracle will happen. This type of gamble can ruin nations if it turn out to be wrong. The level of social and economic damage would be on the same level as a major war -- 400k predicted UK deaths (Imperial College) vs 600k deaths in WW2.
Those who think that the economy will bounce back quickly after an acute outbreak are living in fantasy. People can get reinfected with this virus, so there's no such thing as long-term or even medium-term immunity. All current predictions are that this virus will become seasonal and come back every year.
The point being that if the UK govt goes ahead with this approach they risk inflicting a far more severe outbreak than elsewhere in the world, all for the sake of corporate profits. Let's say this happens and then a vaccine is found a few months afterwards. The UK govt will have killed off tens if not hundreds of thousands of its citizens unnecessarily, in which case you'd then be looking at a violent revolution, and not only in Scotland.
And if a vaccine isn't found, there's no such things as getting the outbreak "over and done with fast, for the sake of the economy." The virus in that case would be here to stay.
There is literally no scenario in which the above proposal (Dom's?) isn't horrifying madness.
Stuart Campbell of Wings doesn't support Independence, he doesn't support abolishing GRA, Stuart Campbell supports himself, he's an egotist who wants banners and parades all in his name with the thanks and love of a greatful crowd as long as they keep sending him money to keep doing it
ReplyDeleteThey take him to court for abuse, they ban him from Twitter for abuse, his so called friends have deserted him because the've found him out, is there something about this record of behaviour folk are not getting
I don't think Wings can be classed as an independence campaign website nowadays.
DeleteIt's a GRA reform pressure group which sees the constitutional debate as low priority.
That's fine, but for me, I'm interested mainly in indy. I do have concerns about the GRA reform (I'm on the Cherry side of the fence), but that seems to be resolving itself slowly as we reach 'peak trans' now that the media is talking about it. Trans rights activists are making sure 'pure' self id will end up dead in the water in due course, not that it ever really existed in the hyped form.
That's not why Campbell is engaged in this cause, Campbell's only interest is in diminishing support for the FM and the SNP so that he can produce a political party of his own claiming that there's a demand for it, a demand that he's trying to create
DeleteStuart Campbell is just using the exact same tactics as Nigel Farage used to get himself famous while at the same time excluding himself from the responsibilities but accepting the plaudits from the activists of the situation he created, the evidence is all there and why he keeps being banned from Twitter for his behaviour
Today Campbell even admits that his latest tirade against the SNP and FM would likely be taken down from his own Twitter account so he's placed it on the Wings Over Scotland website where he hopes it'll be objected to and possible banned because he'll still have his one last remaining Twitter account to carry on pumping out his bile
He knows that his Website is all but over because it's turned into a cesspit of hate, and knows that any future crown funder likely won't be met with great enthusiasm so he doesn't mind sacrificing it to reinforce his martyrdom *The SNPs out to get me* is the cry
The good thing is folk who thought he was the *good guy* are seeing through him, the sooner the better
Support for the SNP and Yes seem to have both surged beginning around the time Wings 'swapped sides' and started attacking these. Coincidence?
DeleteOr maybe unionists were right all along in saying that he was harmful to the Yes campaign.
I do think wings has made the mistake of believing he has some influence on events. I show up in both BBC and Wings stats as a regular visitor, but that obviously doesn't equate to 'agreeing with website stance'.
I actually do broadly agree on his concerns over GRA reform, being a scientist. However, its irrelevant to indy, particularly as it's already a devolved area.
Any SNP member joining the WOSP, it will be an automatic resignation from the party as the rules state you can only be a member of one political party campaigning within Scotland.
DeleteWhat Campbell's saying is forget about Independence and concentrate on the 18 people in Scotland who want to become something else other than the sex or gender they are because the SNP will let them do it and all the toilets will be full of men changing their sexual designation wearing frocks and jumping on your daughters to do them harm, and of course the people who don't like the SNP are all over this like a rash helping to stimulate this non existent threat, and the people who don't know anything fall for it because they're over excitable, then there's the people like Campbell who just love to make an issue out of 0.02% of the population and turn it into a pandemic of strange and odd people creeping about launching themselves sexually at passers by in parks and quiet streets but it'll be the law so they'll all get away with it
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely no wonder Twitter has banned this guy for abusive speech
The premise of all Unionist argument has come down to *stay with the UK because Boris Johnson won't be around forever but don't vote for Independence because Nicola Sturgeon will be around forever, and Campbell is using the same stupid argument into fooling people that Independence under the SNP will be bad but gleefully neglecting the fact that in an Independent Scotland the position of the SNP is that they will immediately stand down to enable elections of politicians from all parties who choose to stand
That's the whole point of a peoples democracy, but Campbell only wants Campbells democracy or he'll kick up a fuss
Laws are made and unmade, changed, ammended, and new ones made all the time so that if a law doesn't work it can be fixed, Campbell doesn't want people to think about that, because he wants to be noticed, applauded, cheered and fulfill his ambition of being on the telly, something he has bitterly complained about in the past
Most of the population of the world hasn't been on telly, you don't hear them complaining about it
I'm fairly sure Campbell once wrote a blog post against people who were having tantrums about only wanting independence if it was going to be their kind of independence, but I can't find it on his site now.
DeleteSince we're talking about Stuart Campbell - and TV. I seem to remember there was some sort of rivalry between him and some unionist blogger Kevin Hague.
ReplyDeleteWell, I was just thinking, Hague recently convened that These Islands conference. Whatever you think of its politics, the event brought together a former prime minister, some notable journalists/historians, (John Lloyd etc) , MPs and ex ministers, a few academics, an economist or two, John Curtice, Gerry Hassan, an ex First Minister, a couple of Lords, etc. And (rightly or wrongly) this made it onto TV. However you may disagree with its message, it was doing something positive for its cause, even if a futile rearguard action against reality of a disintegrating union.
Whereas Campbell who used to be [perhaps] the most popular indy blogger ever, seems to have gone part time, got bogged down into a single issue pressure group, convening no more than a site infested with anonynmous trolls attacking the Scottish Government adn SNP MPs/MSPs. Now the anonymous trolls there could be MPs and Lords for all we know, but the contrast is a bit sad. Would be nice if he could channel his energy into something more constructive, in the real world (though it may be hard to do from Bath).
'These Islands' are a really offensive group of colonial English nationalists, hence the inclusion of the Irish republic in their islands, with meetings about keeping a hold of Scotland being held in Newcastle.
DeleteAre you an anonymous troll?
DeleteThe way Kevin Hague invents doom and gloom to back up his claims of staying in the Union is the same way that Stuart Campbell is inventing his brand of doom and gloom about this tiniest proportion of people, like Gordon Brown claimed there'd be no more pensions and no blood transfusions in an Independent Scotland then his claims were blown out of the water as big fat lies
ReplyDeleteWhen people use the Internet to claim things that aren't true when they get found out their credibility becomes zero on anything else they say, Campbell is down the same route and it's dangerous because there are people out there who are impressionable and do stupid things because they read stupid things
Only today again the FMs life was threatened on Twitter by some luniac because of how dangerous the Internet can be and as he continues these vicious attacks on the FM he of all people is fully aware of the repercussions this stupidity can have
That's why his Wings Party account was instantly banned for abusive speech, he's promoting hate and if he keeps it up it might be more than court he ends up in for harrassing female politicians, it could be jail, like he did with Kezia Dugdale (even though in principle he was correct in what he meant to say she won the case because he's an abusive foul mouthed person who can't communicate without abusing people) Now his target is Nicola Sturgeon because she's much higher profile than any of the Labour women he did this to
Folk have the right to stand their ground on an issue whatever it is but they don't have the right to inflame society and incite hatred
This website, Wee ginger Dug website and others have been removed from Campbells website or blocked or sworn at for not supporting him and still he won't stop this behaviour, because it's more important to him to be famous than everybody else's rights or feelings or even safety
I hope the powers that be remove all and any content of this man from the Internet and make sure he doesn't get access again to spread this poison
You sound like Goebells.
DeleteI think folk have got the 'I don't like Campbell' message now.
DeleteI think people get that you don't like Boris/The Conservatives/ Britain but you repeatedly post about that on a daily basis.
DeleteI thought it was you posting. At least try to sound a bit different!
DeleteHate of the English is what motivates the Skier. He is a walking unexploded time bomb.
DeleteMost of the posts on here are GWC whingeing about racism against the English while going on about Frogs and Krauts, Skier saying "own two feet" for the eight billionth time, or our resident anonymous incel assuring us that madmentalnicky hates all men. It's all getting a bit repetitive.
DeleteArlene darling your counting of posts and those who post has discrepancies, however you are a lying Jock Nat si.
