Hard Brexit Means Independence Referendum

Just a quick note to let you know that I have a new article at the TalkRadio website, about how Theresa May's hardline British nationalism (and the craven refusal of Labour and the Liberal Democrats to challenge it) is opening up a golden opportunity for the Scottish independence movement.  You can read the article HERE.

I can hardly believe that the PM is now using the phrases and words that I've been mocked for using for years. Real progress.

We thought we had lucked out when the tories and Davidson became the public face of unionism in scotland, but NOW.. holy christ!

The extreme far-right Britnat Kipperism that Theresa May's tories are plunging themselves headfirst into will be unbelievably toxic to all but the most hardline, foaming at the mouth Yoons in scotland.

There's a reason UKIP are a punchline in scotland.

Wait till the opposition to Indyref 2 and the new 'Better Together' has to cope with tories utterly indistinguishable from Farage and David Coburn in charge of them.

Davidson is pissing in the wind if she thinks she can pretend otherwise as we saw from her laughably incoherent and delusional response yesterday.

  2. Nope, it means an independence referendum is "more likely", apparently.

The troll calls scottish people "jocks", advocates arming Leave campaigners, claimed Jo Cox's husband was a fascist, uses racial and ethnic slurs, pretends to be Labour (badly) while espousing far-right racist hate-speech, praises Theresa May and the tories and displays a perverted poisonous obsession with Scotland's First Minister & her predecessor

Keep up your imagination loser. You are a treat to read. We are oot and you know it. Knickerless will not call a referendum. She cannot afford to. The Nat sis are on shite control alert.

    2. The silence from SNP HQ and the failure of their supporters to address that - instead accusing others of desperation and endlessly quoting irrelevant material - speaks to their true desperation that the dream may be dying. They might not seek a referendum. If they seek it, they might not get it. If they get it, they might not win it. Meanwhile, we continue to wake up each morning in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, with a Tory Prime Minister and a royal head of state ;0)

Ye hiv tae luv the Nat sis. Maybe an alliance with Gerry big nose Adams and Martin MuckGuinness could be a winner for them. The subsidy is their problem! Who will give them it in the absence of the English taxpayer.

  7. A good analysis. Not Sturgeon is not bluffing. The space for her not to call the referendum is narrower by the day. It is likely that she will call it - on the basis of democratic principle - regardless what the polls say.

For the Unionists it will be more difficult to argue for a status quo and against "a leap in the dark", and they will struggle to pin blood-and-soil nationalism on the SNP and their motives to campaign for independence in Europe.

On the other hand, May may well try to block the referendum from the word go. One thing I do fear is that it will provoke anti-English sentiment in social media (in fact, it sometimes already does), which could be a sinister departure from the Civic Nationalism cultivated under Salmond during Indy1. Any English wishing to make an independent Scotland their home must continue to be made welcome in a way that it may be their country as much as anyone else's

    1. There is no such thing as independence in Europe - and any attempt to bring that about cuts us off from our largest trading partner - the rest of the UK.

It would be so easy to poke holes in. Even easier than 2014. Also keep in mind that if No wins, Sturgeon resigns and if Yes wins, Theresa May resigns. Neither of these women wants to place their neck on the block just as their political careers are taking off.
