Stopwatch injustice

I'm not an expert on the laws of rugby, but surely something has just gone terribly wrong.  The decision on whether to blow the final whistle should not be based on how long it takes the referee to get the technology to work, and to ask the other official whether time is up.  The only question should be whether time was up at the moment the ball went dead, in which case the answer was no.  And it's obvious that the Welsh players had the objective of winding the clock down with their actions after the Scotland try was scored, so surely the referee should have stopped the clock for a few seconds anyway?

OK, it's natural to feel a bit raw ten minutes after an incident like that, but this one really does seem like a clear-cut case of injustice.

  1. A Scot last game threw the ball down after letting it go into touch. He was given a yellow card for his troubles, even though it did not effect the game at all, technically correct if very harsh.
A Welsh man kicks the ball into the stands after a penalty is awarded five yards out, and nothing is done.
I find it very challenging watching the refereeing of Scotland games these days.

    1. There were at least three occasions over the last few minutes of the game when the referee could/should have given a yellow card to a Welsh player - that one was probably the most blatant. But with the decision on the final whistle it's not an even a question of interpretation or context - the officials just completely got it wrong.

  2. As long as the quisling media defend every obscene decision against Scotland then nothing will ever be done.

In every other country the media would highlight the referee being a cheat and demand justice. In Scotland that would be pro-Scottish ergo pro-Yes and so doesn't happen.

    1. The referee wasn't cheating, he was just making extraordinarily poor decisions. Maybe he was subconsciously over-compensating due to his connection with Vern Cotter.

  3. James what about the high tackle and the "foward" pass. Much is made about us not taking our chances but you cannot take them if they are not awarded. Ps saw the ball and the pick up three times and honestly cannot tell if it was forward.

    1. The polls are showing, as they generally do, that it's...
