By popular demand - Part 2 of the political blog poll

OK, as I missed out so many obvious options from the poll on blog readership habits, it seems only fair to add a 'part 2', which will run concurrently, and hopefully produce reasonably comparable results. I've added all the suggestions people left, plus a few others that I realised I'd overlooked. Once again, you'll find the voting form at the top of the sidebar.

Of course it's inevitable that I'll still have missed some out, so feel free to take up Marcia's suggestion and leave a 'write-in' vote in the comments section!

  1. Interesting that, after 5 votes, no one reads Brian Taylor's blog (although we all read WOS and Alex Massie, who isn't even a nationalist). I bet that wasn't the case before comments got turned off.

Comments are the lifeblood of blogging. Without comments, it's just some random person airing their opinion, which is not particularly interesting.

(Oh, and you forgot Douglas Fraser's blog this time... Although I don't read it either, for the same reasons as BT's blog!)

  2. Darn it James and RevStu, all chummed up and cheery when some of us wanted it settled with a bout of wrestling in rhubarb jam or a duel in Princes St. Gardens. Fearties.

  3. I've got to admit, I don't understand the anger at comments being turned off on Scottish BBC blogs. Any time I was brave enough to venture in there it all seemed to be hostile, personal attacks and no real political discussion at all.

  7. I cast a swift eye down the blog candidates and swear I saw Cooncillor Kelly's blog. Yes Cooncillor Kelly of Baffled fame on the old Herald Blogs.

I made a cup of tea and then re-read the list and he is not there.

Sometime I wonder if I am slipping in and out of a parallel universe.

The question is, which one is the real one?

  8. I have the feeling that the BBC Scotland blogs of Brian Taylor and Douglas Fraser are like discourses given in vacuum outer space; nobody hears them.

  9. Can you leave poll part 3 until next week James, my head's starting to hurt.

  10. Still missing some :-(

Brian Ashcroft's Scottish Economy Watch is (IMHO) worth a look. He has a tendency to see "nae gless" rather than erring on the side of optimism - dog bites man - but there are some gems in there ("Losing control" for example).

And he answered my questions. Would Douglas Fraser do that? Oh, I wouldn't be able to ask a question on DF's blog, silly me.
