Alba's death-throes UPDATE: party insider makes explosive allegation that Kenny MacAskill (aka "Cruella's Hostage") kept the NEC in the dark about a five-figure debt - there are now once again severe doubts over whether Alba will even be able to STAND CANDIDATES in May

Scot Goes Pop: The Final Fundraiser is underway (you can read more about why I anticipate it being the final one HERE) and it's already a bit over halfway towards its target figure of £1700.  A million thanks to everyone who has donated so far.  Card donations can be made at the GoFundMe page HERE, or if you prefer to cut out the middle-man, direct PayPal donations can be made to my PayPal email address, which is:   jkellysta@yahoo.co.uk

  1. If that doesn't take the biscuit, what does? If they can even afford biscuits. I suppose a Garibaldi would be out of the question.

  2. May will be the last time Alba will even be worth noticing. After their non showing in the results I guess they’ll shuffle off into nothingness. Same goes for Corbyn’s non-event of a party at the next GE.

    1. The “problem” with Corbyn’s party is splitting the vote between him and labour, making a Farage led biggest party a real possibility at the next G E. It could be of real benefit to the Indy cause if properly exploited, but Swinney has recently exercised some really bad judgement, so not holding my breath. His “SNP votes only” rule was and remains astonishingly stupid.

  3. Ach, there's always the United Socialist Party of Venezuela.

    1. Quite so. Still the ruling party of Venezuela, and with Trump's apparent blessing.

    2. Ach, there's always the Conservative and Unionist Party.

  4. Should FIFA ask for their nonsensical peace prize back?

  5. What sort of moronic party would get in a dispute with its own auditors ? Take it ALBA will be going to an auditor from manchester next to a kebab shop next year to get an audit then? (if they still exist)

  6. Alba were never more than Alex Salmond's attempt at a revenge vehicle to get himself back into his beloved Westminster and still his supporters refuse to see it

  7. Alba stopped having political relevance when Salmond decided to sit out Rutherglen. The project failed badly after that. Once momentum is lost with emerging parties, the whole thing unravels very quickly.

    1. Yup - Rutherglen was the 2nd biggest political miscalculation of the century so far I’d say (after douchebag Cameron’s decision to hold an EU referendum).

    2. It's probably already been covered on previous blogs, but do we know what the reason for the decision was? Rutherglen looked like the perfect opportunity for them to break through. Even coming second would have made a splash.

    3. Nah, choosing Nicola as his successor was obviously the worst mistake of all. He said so himself, and he was right.

Alba's no more to blame than the SSP or the Scottish Libertarians (both are still "going strong"…) for the sorry state of the Yes movement (and vote) in these terrible times for the Union.

That responsibility lies in the hands of the SNP leadership who marched us up the hill, not for independence, but just more of this, every time.

    1. Insider says: We wonder if an Alba VIP with high hair might have been seen on a train from Glasgow Central last week, getting off at Girvan to be met by welcoming friends. Just wondering.

  9. A typically Newsquest clickbait headline on the National website about the Scottish Government having questions to answer over the use of Wick airfield by US planes on their way to apprehend the rogue oil tanker.
Defence is of course fully reserved to Westminster. I doubt John Swinney was even informed.

  10. maybe the problem was Alba were using the same accountants as the SNP

"it was resting in my account ..."

    1. Or maybe the same accountant as 'Scottish' Labour, Reform Ltd or the Conservative group.

  11. For many, many years, the collapse of legacy media, and the rise of new media has been predicted, with very little empirical evidence of this actually happening.
Public attitudes to the genocide in Gaza, and now the kidnapping of Nicolás Maduro, demonstrate a sizeable disconnect between the citizens, and the state, and its approved media.
The latest act of Trump directed piracy off the coast of Scotland, has been met with sycophantic applause in Westminster, and MSM. Folk can see through this. Our political class are craven to American hegemony because they were bought decades ago.
Expect a crack down on alternative media, and probably a BBC funding model moved over to direct taxation (or complete dissolution of the BBC under RefUK).
The crack down has already begun with numerous British journalists arrested for telling the truth about Gaza.

  12. More in Common MRP model, Westminster seat projection. Headlined for January, but field work 27 Nov - 16 Dec.
RefUK outright majority of 112. 60% of seats on 31% of votes rivalling 2024 for disproportionality.
First-past-the-post is looking increasingly anachronistic in the 21st century.
Labour deservedly reduced to 85 seats.

Electoral map of Scotland appears to show:
LibDems on 6 seats, RefUK on an unlikely 9 seats, Labour and the Tories on one each.

Sample population for whole of Britain of 16,083 is at the extreme limit of what could be expected to produce a remotely plausible MRP prediction.

  13. Re the lying Trump account of the illegal shooting of the women driving her car in the states. The ICE operator was probably poorly trained - no other ICE operative had cause to fear and upholster their guns. Could have shot the tyres. After shooting the lady the car drove at speed and could have killed a pedestrian. Don’t visit the USA until Trump Vance and co are long gone is my advise.
