Astonishing poll shows big support in England for Scottish independence - plus Labour is totally at odds with its own voters on Gaza

I said in my fundraising post earlier that I was planning to start posting regular audio content, as a kind of transitional step to allow me to try to gradually build up my YouTube channel, with a view to moving on to posting regular video content if I can ever get to grips with the technical challenges.  So I thought I'd start as I mean to go on, and below you can find some audio commentary on no fewer than three new YouGov polls - one showing that Labour is at odds with its own voters on the Gaza issue, one showing surprisingly high levels of support for Scottish independence among English voters, and one showing how Scottish voters differ from English voters in their attitudes to votes at 16.

If you can't use the embedded player for whatever reason, the direct link to the YouTube file is HERE, and it can also be found on Soundcloud HERE.  I'd be grateful if you subscribe to my YouTube channel after listening, because that's part of the point of the exercise!

Incidentally, I'm planning to keep the fundraising post pinned to the top of the blog for an extended period (or however long it takes), so remember to scroll down in future to look for the newest posts.

  1. What I'm noticing is that it really doesn't matter what voters want the government to do on military action, not just Israel-Gaza, what matters is what the US wants. And that's that.

    1. Ive recently distilled that politicians no longer deconstruct important political points prior to being elected.

      -euthanasia/assisted dying
      -the three people baby DNA
-Starter doing deal with OpenAI for govt depts
      -winter fuel

Off the top of my head. Im not necessarily for or against any of the above but noone can seriously say these topics were properly discussed prior to any election by any of the parties and then they are voted on or proceeded with, without fanfare

Our democracy is a bit of a fudge. They talk about macro issues like "the economy", dumbed down to slogans. Politics seems to be aboht winning election now, rather than discussing points of principle and a majority opiniom taken forward.

  2. The English electorate think they subsidise us. Let’s not disabuse them of that notion. If we can secure our Independence they can learn the hard way when the water, gas, oil and electricity get cut off. I’m not bothering to mention forestry, fishing and world class agricultural produce, or whisky, or research facilities, or………,.,. You get the picture.

    1. The english only care about money and if Scotland was being subsidised year on year, decade on decade, by England, it would have been cut loose decades ago. But it isn't - quite the reverse, the pillage of Scotland is hidden by a mountain of bizarre accountancy tricks, including e.g. crediting Scots oil and gas to "ex regio", a "nowhere place", and for example, crediting whisky exports to London as Diageo is HQ-ed there; there is an entire industry involved in lying to cover up this theft. Scotland receives back as a block grant, only 55% of the revenue raised there - it's a ripoff and needs to stop.

Most english in Scotland are viciously bigoted ethno-nationalist supremacists aka little englanders, who believe Scotland is their possession. Civic nationalism is not for an invasive alien species. They are taking over Scotland, all the nice bits, and the natives are going to be left their own "bit", a gaza like strip along the M8 corridor.

The Anglo is a thief with a genetic desire to steal everything he can. When Scotland leaves, the pound drops to 80 cents, and they lose their seat on the security council.

    2. Did you misunderstand what I said at 11.46? And can you avoid the vitriol? It gains the Indy cause nothing, and gives the BBC and MSM a nasty Nat narrative.

  3. I think 1246 is just an extreme right winger trying to stir up hatred. Doesn’t seem to know that a £ doesn’t have cents. Is that you Donald?

    1. I am not 12.46 but the reference to 80 cents is obviously ( to most people) the dollar exchange rate.

    2. I am anon at 12.51. I was trying to be subtle, but I think you probably have the best approach. We are agreed he is a pathetic wee unionist.

  4. The English populace believe the brainwashing , that Scotland is subsidised. They genuinely believe that. However their government know it's the other way around. That is why we are not independent. The English government are blocking it, for obvious reasons.

The same English populous thought the EU was robbing them . When it was actually Westminster. This is English exceptionality. It allows their government to pull the wool over their eyes.
