Spot the mystery location as I continue fundraising for a GRA / gender issues opinion poll

For convenience (at least for the time being) I'm fundraising for the GRA poll via the Scot Goes Pop general fundraiser for 2021 - everything donated over the coming period will go towards the poll.  To commission a poll in a similar way to most of the previous ones I've done would require around £5500 - that takes into account processing fees.  To give you a rough idea, the running total on the general fundraiser prior to me seeking funds for the poll was below £8000, so the earmarked £5500 will have been raised when the running total reaches a little over £13,000.  More realistically, I could shop around for a cheaper option and limit the number of questions, but even to do that the running total will probably have to hit a minimum of £11,000.  If you'd like to donate to help make the poll happen, please click HERE.

    2. I want to say "chan eil" but as there isn't a general word for "no", that's probably gramatically incorrect. But it's not Uig.

  2. In fairness, Stravaiger got it bang on and provided a grid reference for the exact spot I was standing on. But that creeped me out, so....

    1. Haha, sorry James, I thought it might. If you remember, I got your Corran photo pretty spot on too. It's amazing what a single view can give away, especially if you're familiar with the country. Take a look at GeoWizard on YouTube. I can't hold a candle to him.

  3. James, I have no idea where you were in the photo but I do know where Scottish Skier ( liar since 2014) is. He has migrated to WGD the old folks site. I previously told him he should post there as he would feel more at home with all the other SNP party people who worship at the feet of Sturgeon.

WGD is now the site where people who say the the referendum will always be the next year go to post. People who think both votes SNP electing lots of Britnat MSPs was just a great result. The natural home for the liar Skier.

He doesn't seem to think you were very nice to him. Surprised Mr Kavanagh let him post his comments about you.

    1. Paul is a lovely guy who's been very kind to me on a number of occasions. We have different perspectives on the current situation, but that's fine - people can disagree honestly.

As for Scottish Skier, I won't be bothering to read any comments he's written about me at WGD, mainly because I don't need to - he's been bombarding my inbox with novel-length complaints and grievances for weeks now. What I find odd about him is that he's like a hurricane that just never blows itself out - you'd think after a few days he'd start to think it's pointless to spend time writing comments no-one will ever read, but it's taken him this long to give up the ghost.

Eventually Paul will 'disappoint' him and the same cycle will be repeated.

    2. Of course Mr Kavanagh does say in his moderation policy note that anyone posting abusive comments will be banned from his site. So will he ban Skier (liar since 2014) for his abusive comments about you? Skier (liar since 2014) claims you no longer support independence and took his money under false pretences ( but the SNP never did any such thing re Indyref2 donations according to the liar Skier). Also will he ban those posters who agreed with his abusive comments? I doubt it. I doubt his word is his bond.

I notice WGD now states there will be a referendum in the next two years. Crikey, what happened to it will always be the following year.

    3. "Took his money under false pretences"

Translation: he unconditionally donated £20 about a billion years ago and then demanded it back after I'd already spent it in exactly the way I said I would. Tiresome game-player.

    4. Well James I have been saying Skier is a liar so it doesn't surprise me. I did think about donating to make up any amount Skier donated and wanted back but to be honest a poll on GRA stuff doesn't interest me but I will donate in future when it is a matter that will advance Scottish independence.

"People can disagree honestly." Yes they can but not SS and WGD.

  4. I know you said you would not read them, but think you probably should read SS comments on WGD. Hes basically accusing you of obtaining his money through false pretenses and making a big deal of Go Fund Me 'agreeing' that you did so and refunding his dontation's. Seeing as you are on a funding drive currently, these sort of unfounded rumors being spread could put some people off donating.

At the least maybe reach out to Paul and put your side across so he can decide whether he wants the comments to stay up. Knowing SS from old if your not careful his comments will become progressively more nasty and deograry over time if you do not try to nip thins in the bud.

    1. I'm sure Paul has got better things to do. What this is really about is Scottish Skier's propaganda drive over the SNP spending the "ring-fenced" cash, and his increasingly convoluted attempts to suggest that they are still "good for the money" even though it's no longer actually there. He claims that the SNP are willing to refund anyone on request (which is impossible, because if everyone requested a refund the cash simply isn't available - refunds have only been feasible because only a small number of people have requested them). So, as a propaganda stunt, Scottish Skier demanded a *partial* refund (the 'partial' cracked me up) of £20 that he donated several months ago and that I had long since spent in exactly the way promised. He claimed that if the SNP were willing to offer refunds, so should I, even though there's no conceivable comparison because I didn't misuse the cash. I told him I wasn't interested in his little games, so he tried his luck with GoFundMe instead. According to their own stated rules they shouldn't have refunded him because the donation was so old and hadn't been misused, but because it was a trvial amount they probably just went for the easy option for a quiet life.

    2. Oh, and another detail that might amuse you: at one point he tried to force me to make a £5 donation to the Green party!

    3. Skier (liar since 2014) has already posted again on WGD saying you are telling fibs. It seems WGD is very selective in who he allows to be abused on his site. So his written moderation policy like himself is a fake.

Skier (liar since 2014) also says you banned him from your site. If he is telling the truth for once then I am sure he deserved it.

    4. Of course he's not telling the truth - as I've explained umpteen times, it's impossible to "ban" people on the Blogger platform. His comments haven't made it beyond the pre-moderation queue recently, but as most of them have been unhinged rants about me, I'm not really sure what he'd expect. I'm fairly sure he's also fibbing about the date of his donation, but don't quote me on that - I'd have to doublecheck.

  5. WGD and his followers have taken the moral high road in his current post about Johnston the liar. Johnston of course has always lied. Nothing new or unusual about Britnats lying they have been doing it for centuries.

However it is a sign of a cult following that the same people on WGD totally ignored in previous years Sturgeon lying continuously through the persecution of Salmond affair and of course lying for 4 years about an imminent indyref2. These people who post on WGD, and WGD himself, lack any credibility when they only call out Britnat lies.
