Just a quick note to let you know that I have an analysis piece at The National about the new Ipsos poll, which shows Yes in the lead by 52% to 48%, and a substantial SNP lead in both Westminster and Holyrood voting intentions. You can read the article HERE.
The problem with any of this is that whatever people think of the Labour Government and leadership, what they see is rebel MPs forcing U-turns. And what that means is that when the party sacks Starmer, and it's when not if, there's a total reset for voters.
ReplyDeleteAnd that means whatever gains Reform UK have made in polling can be quickly reversed, and whatever gains by the SNP, or to be more realistic, losses by Labour, can just as easily be reversed.
What could the SNP do about that? Have the MSPs stand up to the leadership. The problem is that they're not so much "SNP baaaad", as "SNP baaaaa". Something the voters might be increasingly aware of.
Party first is becoming increasingly unpopular, for voters and members, with Alba and now Greens as prime examples.
