Another bizarre poll from Find Out Now. Westminster voting intention, field work 21st Jan.
ReplyDeleteSample population 1,385. Find Out Now used to report samples in excess of two thousand (sometimes substantially so). Now their polls are firmly in the dodgier end of the spectrum. As goes their credibility, so does participation?
UK headlines; RefUK 14% lead over Tories. +5% week on week. Greens 3% lead over Labour (not for the first time). Find Out Now who were always an outlier, are now massively out of kilter with all other pollsters.
Scottish sub-sample for giggles.
Con 15%, Lab 8%, LibDem 7%, RefUK 23%, Green 8%, SNP 37%.
Think this might just be enough to push IFS over the edge lol
ReplyDeleteLike all your forecasts Declan at 7.03pm they are laughably wrong.
DeleteAnd it keeps getting worse for the poor wee British troll
DeleteIgnoring that it’s a sub sample to be taken with a massive grain of salt, that would see almost all the Scottish seats at Westminster taken by SNP or Reform. Presumably SNP with the most but you can never tell with the perverse FPTP system.
ReplyDeleteSNP will win the May Election quite handsomely I hope.
ReplyDeleteBut the rise of Reform, allbeit not as great in Scotland as in England and allbeit they now seem to be gradually falling back from their earlier peak, does worry me.
I would still like to think that the vast majority of Scots will see right through the Reform facade, to the racist, fascist scum which lies beneath and to the racist fascist white-power American money backing them.
Farage, like Trump, allows racists and fascist to openly express their bigotries in a way they weren't able to do for decades and they love them for that. Those human dregs who, for many many years, have been forced by a sane and civilized society to keep their fascism and racism to themselves, now openly rejoice in what Farage and Trump permit them to say and do.
They are the dark ages coming back to life.
Scotland MUST be better than that trash.
I believe it is.
Unfortunately it matters little what Scots think. Westminster can do whatever it wants in Scotland. And with Farage in charge, that won't be pretty.
DeleteWhat will you do when it proves it isn't?
DeleteFarage's boys will soon be the main opposition party in Holyrood. They’ll have earned it the same way (the so easily hatable) Ruth Davidson's Tories did before them. Plenty of Scots voted for her and plenty will vote for him.
Call it what you like, they're still Scots. Even if, despite every effort otherwise, we get our independence, we'll still have to live with them in Indy Scotland.
Scotland and most of its people are certainly better than that trash.
DeleteSturgeon’s gang most certainly are not. John the Redactor is still beavering away with his black felt pen trying to cover up his and Sturgeon’s wrongdoings. A First Minister that is failing to comply with the law. An FM that sucks up to the great orange fascist Trump and his little poodle Starmer.
Calling people rascist fascist scum (you should throw in 'schemie' as well) is a surefire way of getting yet more people to vote for Reform. And it looks very possible that the scum you hate will be the main opposition party in Holyrood. One thing is sure: Your hated scum will be motivated to actually vote. Not sure that yet more of exactly the same will inspire people to bother.
DeleteGreat to see Scotgovt gifting one of their brilliant Baby Boxes to Mayor Mamdani in New York.
ReplyDeleteWonder if it is big enough to take the Orange Man-Baby in his nappies???
On a more serious note, it is worth highlighting that some of the people who are presently advising and funding Farage and Reform are exactly the same people who advised and funded Trump and MAGA and who are still controlling him like a puppet on a string.
Make no mistake, the ruthless, fascist, law-shredding template we see playing out on American streets with the ICE thugs could happen over here under a Reform Govt in WM, as could the gutting of all Govt Depts whose remit is to give benefits to the most needy, most deprived and poorest members of our society.
And, needless to say, those rich elite at the top of society would be treated much better with more baubles being flung their way, just like with Trump.
The writing is very clearly on the wall and only the dumbest, most racist, most fascist among us will not or cannot see it.
From the Deputy Political Editor at the Spectator -
ReplyDelete'NEW: Understand Scott Bessent and Nigel Farage discussed Diego Garcia and Chagos during their dinner at Davos.
US Treasury Sec believed to have credited Farage for getting this issue in the President’s in-tray and subsequent Trump stance.'
And from an investigative money expert on social media -
'Just a casual connection between Reform donors and Farage's Davos' trip sponsors, the grandson of the former president of Kazakhstan, Prince Andrew, the wife of a former Putin minister who paid to meet Tice in the French Rivieira, Putin and Trump.'
There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever, that Farage is involved with and controlled by exactly the same type of dark money donors who are behind MAGA and Trump.
He swims in exactly the same cesspit as White Supremacist Bannon and his fascist friends.
Vote for Farage/Reform and you will get the crooked, fascist baggage pulling his strings.
A very good blog by the big dug on how the BBC report on hospital problems in Scotland compared to England. This is exactly what you would expect when Scotland is a colony of England and England controls the broadcasting in Scotland. I can’t say I ever remember the SNP demanding that Broadcasting in Scotland should be devolved. Swinney had a good opportunity during the Smith Commission but did he even try?
ReplyDeleteAnyone who has now seen all the different angled videos of ICE shooting that guy yesterday, KNOWS it was cold blooded murder.
ReplyDeleteOne of the clips even shows him puting his hands up before about 6 ICE thugs jumped on him and another clearly shows an ICE thug pulling the victim's properly licenced gun from his waistband just before he was shot to death.
The victim never brandished his gun at ICE, he never threatened anyone with it at any time.
And then we have the grotesque sight of Trump spokespersons denying what the entire world can see and yet again calling the victim of an ICE murder 'a terrorist' who deserved to die.
America under Trump is now a Fascist State run by modern Nazis and remember, Farage and Reform model themselves almost completely on Nigel's very close pal Trump.
Whoever you vote for in May, please do not vote for Farage and his Trump-Lite Fascists.
More good news. Let's hope the SNP kick on from here.
ReplyDeleteFormer MP for Glasgow South, turned lobbyist for the MIC, Stewart McDonald argues in an essay that the Scottish Government moratorium on providing economic assistance to arms manufacturers selling directly to the Israeli military * should be lifted due to “strategic judgment”.
ReplyDelete* This moratorium is a finessed development by Swinney. The Sturgeon policy had a blanket ban on assistance to all munitions manufacture.
The essay is carried by; enlighten “Scotland’s independent think tank”. The charity enlighten, is a renaming exercise from Reform Scotland (registered with OSCR 2008). Its Director is Chris Deerin, of Charlotte Street Partners, and the New Statesman.
McDonald claimed to have been initially motivated to enter politics due to his concern for the Palestinian people. McDonald’s “strategic judgement” wouldn’t just see the moral bar lowered, it would see it buried in the rubble together with tens of thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians.
The BBC hypocrisy over the hospital infections know no bounds. A quick trawl of prosecutions in nhs premises in England with legionella outbreaks , the bbc itself prosecuted for the deaths of many individuals not one English Minister of Health was taken to task , not one minister responsible for the bbc taken either for similar events as well as for the abuse by bbc staff on others.
ReplyDeleteYes, great result for the SNP!!!
ReplyDeleteLabour blocking Burnham reminds me of the SNP changing the rules to block Cherry from Holyrood.
ReplyDeletePathetic factionalism in the interests of an out of touch leadership cabal. Politicians, hell mend the lot of them!
