Scot Goes Pop: The Final Fundraiser is underway (you can read more about why I anticipate it being the final one HERE) and it's already pretty close to halfway to its target figure of £1700. A million thanks to everyone who has donated so far. Card donations can be made at the GoFundMe page HERE, or if you prefer to cut out the middle-man, direct PayPal donations can be made to my PayPal email address, which is: jkellysta@yahoo.co.uk
From a gambling standpoint, I shall be looking at available odds on Israel this year - with some of the most hostile, to them, countries boycotting their chances of coming 1st (regardless of their song entry...) have surely just increased. I don't see the EBU change of rules as having any material impact on their chances, since they are nothing more than tinkering. People always seems to bet against the country because of its undoubted unpopularity, but the popular voting side of Eurovision isn't actually a popularity contest (i.e. like vs dislike) but instead measures, in increasingly large part, countries' efficacy in Get Out the Vote-terms, e.g. Turkish-heritage voters resident in Germany.
ReplyDeleteYouGov, Westminster voting intention, field work 7 - 8 Dec.
ReplyDeleteUK headlines; RefUK 8% lead (over Labour), +1% on last week. People’s Front of Judea (Transgender Command) still not being offered up as a specific option.
Scottish sub-sample (200)
Con 13%, Lab 16%, LibDem 9%, SNP 39%, RefUK 18%, Green 4%.
Another double digit lead for SNP. Labour static. Tories, and RefUK gain at expense of LibDems, and Greens.
Don’t pay your British Propaganda Tax (TV Licence Fee). Maintain records of all your communications. Quote these back at them. They’ll harass you for a year or so, threatening various sanctions. After a bit they’ll (Crapita on behalf of the BBC) send out reminders to sign up for a statement that you remain a non-consumer of their product, every six months or so. At this point, you’re dealing with a computer generated voice, system. After you’ve told them politely to get fecked, they’ll send you a hard copy of a notice of compliance by post. All of this costs THEM money.
ReplyDeleteNon payment of the British Propaganda Tax increases every year. Eventually, they’ll probably replace the TV Licence Fee out of general taxation, but at least we can say we’ve tried.
If you have to get a TV licence as some of us have to, make it a paper copy they send you by post. Don't take the email option.
