Now that Starmer is taking a zero tolerance approach to any suggestion that there can be hierarchies of racism, it seems clear that Labour must disband itself for its racist refusal to accept Scotland's right to exist and to defend herself

I remember in my days on Political Betting, aka 'Stormfront Lite', I used to sometimes get into heated discussions with the right-wing Tory hordes about whether it was possible for Scottish people to suffer racism from people elsewhere in the UK.  "Scotland is a region not a race" was the basic message I would often hear, although that was somewhat undermined by the precedent set by a court case at the time in which someone was found guilty of making racist comments that were specifically about Andy Murray's Scottishness.

I presume an inescapable logical extension of Keir Starmer's ludicrous decision to remove the whip from Diane Abbott yet again, and of his reasons for doing so, is that any Labour MP who ever questions whether it's possible for Scots to suffer racism that is of equal severity to the racism suffered by non-white populations will automatically be booted out of the Parliamentary Labour Party.  Indeed logically it must be racist to deny Scotland's right to exist as a sovereign state.  It must be racist to deny Scotland's right to defend herself.  There can be no hierarchy of racism here.  Starmer must take a zero tolerance approach to all Jockophobic denials of Scotland's right to exist and to defend herself, which inescapably means, I'm afraid, that the Labour party must now disband itself after decades of shockingly severe breaches.

I had actually been thinking about Diane Abbott in recent days, because if hypothetically she was to follow Jeremy Corbyn into the new left-wing party, that might boost its electoral chances quite considerably.  And yet I remember her saying a number of times over the years that "the left doesn't leave the Labour party, it's always the right that walks away", which I take to mean that she would never leave herself.  But could Starmer have just stupidly put her in a position where she has absolutely nothing left to lose?  She was thinking about retirement even before the last election, so presumably she intends this to be her final term in parliament anyway.  With no real incentive for her to spend potentially years grovelling to get the whip back, she might just conclude that a more constructive use of her time is to help get a viable alternative to Starmerism off the ground.

  1. Starmer is the marionette of MI5, and MI6, simples.
His first Chief of Staff, Sue Gray, “took a sabbatical from the Civil Service in the nineteen eighties to run the Cove Bar, in Newry, South Armagh”. Aye right!
Sue was pulling pints in a notorious, IRA pub “fer the crack, so she was”.

Starmer’s current Chief of Staff, Morgan Sweeney has an employment history of exclusively working as a back room functionary for the Labour Party (except for stints working as a labourer on building sites). At the age of 46, Sweeney purchased a £750k holiday home in Lanarkshire. Aye right!

  2. Starmer is British, like the Romans represented themselves and not Italy, like the Germans weren't Nazis, the British represent nothing and no one but themselves
There have always been sects or cults of people who demand rule over everybody else, the British are just a very successful cult
England is demanding devolution like Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland, so who are these British people that insist on ruling us all?
    where did they come from?

  8. Anon 2:25pm has it right about the UK political elite's - "staggering incompetence". At my age I probably wont have to live with it for all that much longer but, we are living in real decline and fall times.
The worst of it is that Scotland has an escape route but our 'leaders' can see nothing beyond appealing to the abusers - 'please, pretty please let us out of your debacle SIR K'.

Meanwhile the UK government toadies to fascistic thugs like Netanyahu and Trump.

Even in their own terms UK government is rubbish. The return of HMS Anson to Faslane means that no UK attack submarine is at sea but yet another £250,000,000 is going to be thown down the toilet at the two bases apparently.

Good luck to Diane Abbott. I hope she does give Starmer a 'kick'. I used to think that it was a bit of a throw away line but now I honestly do fear for my grandchildren.

Sorry to be so negative James but presently despair is snapping at my heels.

    7. Anon 7:51 - All I can speak for in the SNP is my home branch. We had two applicants for candidate for '26. One quite good one who might have made a decent go of it and a notoriously self serving and oblivious one. The miracle of member democracy produced a narrow majority for the numpty ?!
None of the activists want to be Agent and none are likely to canvass. Swinney's non policy on indy then topped out the situation. Morale is about the same as I imagine it to have been among the very last cohort of legionaries struggling against the collapse of the Roman Empire.

That’s sad to hear, though not surprising. The only strange bit is that the unloved careerist somehow beat the popular candidate in the branch ballot. Most peculiar. He who counts the votes, eh?

That’s the SNP and that’s Scotland where we find ourselves now. Useless from top to bottom, and unchangable because it’s rigged.

I wish I knew a way to change it.

  9. The first poll conducted since the franchise was extended to 16 & 17 year olds (FocalData, field work 14 - 18 July, sample population 1,307) suggests RefUK will lose out very slightly (1%) with all other parties remaining the same.
The weighted sample of 16 & 17 year olds (36) is absolutely tiny due to an overwhelming propensity in that age category not to vote (unweighted sample was 274).
The orthodox interpretation of the decision to extend the voting franchise is that Starmer / Morgan Sweeney / the Spookocracy (which amounts to the same thing) was seeking some relative advantage over the other parties.
What if they were trying to boost the number of votes cast (in terms of raw numbers only)?
Obviously, the percentage turnout gets worse, but desperate times call for desperate measures, and the reduction in total votes cast has awkward connotations.
It is becoming increasingly, unavoidably, apparent that the Permanent State has scunnered the population through manipulation of the field of candidates permitted to meaningfully participate.
Immediately after last year’s 4th July election, the portion of Short Money allocated per vote was increased from £38.73 / 200 votes, to £44.53 / 200 votes.
This was presumably to “compensate” the parties against the effects of effective, psychological disenfranchisement of the electorate.
The message to the masses is unavoidable: “You can withhold your vote from the carpetbagging parasites put in front of you, but we’ll give ‘em your hard earned, taxpayer’s money anyway.”.
The change in Short Money was implemented by the Permanent State before the new Parliament was even sworn in. There is no democratic accountability to the system, and the Spookocracy is increasingly insouciant about the peasants becoming aware.

    1. The whiplash is especially severe in Scotland. After indyref, we consistently had the highest turnout in the western world. Feels like long, long, long ago given how things are now, but it's really not. We went through a 180° sea change in politics, from hope to fear, and everyone is utterly scunnered.

You couldn't have engineered it better if you tried. Hats off to them.

  11. I think Abbott is an idiot but you are misrepresenting what she said back then and what she is saying now. She made a point that ought to be debated, and fortunately I have noticed a few mainstream commentators actually at long last beginning to grasp her point and agreeing it should be debated. She is in part a victim of the Israeli propaganda machine and the vested interests in the U K that persuaded both major UK parties that any criticism of the Israeli govt and military regime constitutes anti semitism. That narrative is being discredited at long last.

  12. O/T but the much heralded plan for Independence being used to lure one million Independence supporters back to voting for SNP has been announced, and it says absolutely nothing. There is no plan. The “plan” is in reality the SNP asking me and a million other people to vote for them “just because”. This is so dispiriting. Bizarre as it sounds the SNP really do appear to need to be hammered at the Ballot Box and the entryists and gender brigade removed before there is any prospect of a revival. A broad church party is needed. We have a disturbed, incompetent untrustworthy clique who are running essential services into the ground and trashing the reputation for and demonstrable record of competent government that up until about four years ago saw even Labour supporters vote for SNP. I would not leave my grandchildren in the care of these people, for so many reasons, some of them bluntly sinister. I am sorry to be so blunt but the movement is on a cliff edge. SNP seem unaware or just do not care. I cannot decide which.
