If you think a 54% Yes vote 'isn't high enough', then your own support for independence is nominal at best

  1. I think Craig Murray is right when he says that the larger a polling majority Indy gets the less likely Westminster is to agree to another referendum. Plan A is therefore dead as it involves demanding another referendum - a demand which will surely be refused.
Therefore a plan B is the only way. Independence will not be secured with the cooperation of the British state.

    1. A 30 section order is not legal in law. If it was it, would be breaking The Treaty of the Union of the Scottish and English Parliaments, Westminster has recognised this by passing, unanimously, that the SCOTTISH PEOPLE are SOVERIEGN, not Westminster.

  2. As the covid threat diminishes.we will hear more like this from ayln smith and snp msps.we are getting softened up for the usual retreat from the top of the hill.it seems there is no plan.all we as independence supporters can do is be prepared to vote for the isp party on the list vote. if enough votes can be garnered from snp 2nd votes.then as Colette Walker has said the first thing the isp party will do is have a vote at hollyrood calling for a referendum.then it will be up to the snp to vote it down.sadly up till now there is no alternative.if we do nothing we will end up with nothing.except rich snp politicians.

    1. Voting for a fringe party on the list will do no good whatsoever. It would be the equivalent of throwing your ballot paper in the bin on the way out of the polling station.

  3. We need to be going into the 2021 election declaring 'we don't seek permission from England for an Indyref, but a mandate from the people of Scotland to negotiate the severance of the Union of the two countries'
Nae mair sneaking it in at the eve of poll.
The people are ready. Time to trust the most politically educated electorate in Europe.

    1. I am ready to vote for the Union. We will be well and truly out of the EU before any referendum. Explain then to the Scots why we should give billions to the corrupt EU as well as giving them the right to run amock in our fishing shores.

Ramstan - what you say is exactly what a true party of independence should do. Only technical point I would make is that kingdoms should replace countries.

Crunch time for the SNP are you a party of independence or a party of never ending devolution. What is in the mandate for 2021 Scot parliament election will give us the answer.

I used to have my doubts a few years ago that there were people in the SNP who really didn't give a flying pig for independence. These doubts have well and truly evaporated and are now concrete certainties that the SNP has been infiltrated.

Who is that numpty Melville - of course Cameron wanted it - he was 100% convinced he would win and it would end independence for a very long time in his mind and he could do his EVEL act. Of course he came a lot closer to losing than he ever thought possible but of course broke the Edinburgh Agreement by issuing the Infamous Vow and gave the scardeycats in Scotland an excuse to vote no.

Get the bastards in the SNP out. All they do is argue the case for doing absolutely nothing.

The people are way ahead of that.
Some of his words came across as patronising and fair got my birse up.
Craig Dalziel's recent comments show the likely obstacles ahead.
Check them out. You too Alyn.

51.9% vote in the UK takes Scotland out of the EU even though Scotland voted 62% to remain.

The cringers in Scotland aren't happy to take on the colonialists and their Britnat minions in Scotland with 54%. As this is a Wimbledon week - "you cannot be serious" or grow a pair.

Salmond not mentioned in the YES Scotland history section. Stalinesque/ Soviet Union style airbrushing of Salmond. Disgraceful. The people who are responsible will of course remain in the shadows just like the alphabet sisters. Shameful. Nothing but a mix of careerists, cringers and Britnats.

    3. If you are an expert on Stalinism then demonstrate it in your own words!Stalinism was state capitalism. Putin is a former KGB agent for the Soviet Union. Wee Eck gets an earner from RT the Russian sponsored TV. A vicious circle.

    4. I don't think you've quite grasped the concept of a "circle". Not entirely surprising :)

  9. I think Scots have some kind of Hollywood idea of achieving independence. Imagine if the Jacobite Rebellion had succeeded and even resulted in the restoration of Scottish sovereignty. Today it would be treated as if it was some great patriotic effort with only a few traitors opposing. No one now would question it's inevitability.

You will never get some great united block. Change comes when you have a majority and then enough of the rest just go along with that majority. Independence support has a large solid core. Unionist though are a small intransigent minority utterly committed to English rule. Not just "union" actual complete erasure of the very concept of Scotland and direct rule from England.

The majority of so called unionists are small "c" conservatives. They feel okay and feel it is all a Bird in the Hand against Two in the Bush. So a period of instability and economic uncertainty is exactly the time to push for independence. Minds open up to deal with the inevitability of change. The hardcore UNIONISTS would chain you all to the decks of the Titanic because of an absolute religious belief in the unsinkability of the British State. Never waste your time talking to them. Its comparable to dealing with religious fanatics. For the rest just politely spread enough doubt to get them to step aside.

In a generation you will be very unlikely to find anyone, other than hardcore fanatics willing to say they ever opposed the change.

Your writer Craig Murray certainly understands what happened in countries like mine. Pay attention to what he says about the likely course ahead.

  10. It's pretty likely we will see a unionist driven 'pro-indy' list party in Holyrood 2021 standing with the sole aim of splitting the indy vote.

They are getting really desperate now.

Britnat journalists complaining that Sturgeon is stopping Scots going to Spain. Of course that is not true they can go but if they come back any time soon they need to go into 14 days quarantine. Why? - because it is designed to stop the virus being imported into Scotland from Spain. The Britnat journalists know this but the scumbags are promoting more Scots catching the virus so they can criticise Sturgeon.

The health of the people of Scotland counts for little to these Britnat scumbag journalists as they peddle their lies.

    1. You'd have to be dumb as f**k to not understand why Sturgeon and the SNP have soared in the polls recently.

But then we are talking about unionist journos here.

  12. The unionist 'pro-indy' party mentioned above could well be on the cards, also a longer term strategy may have been the infiltration of the British state into the higher levels of the SNP .People may think this is a conspiracy theory but all you need to do is see the incontrovertible evidence uncovered in the BBC series ' The Troubles' about NI where the British State infiltrated to the highest levels of the republican AND unionist para -military circles.
If the SNP cannot give a clear way forward that does not involve only plan A i can only conclude it has been infiltrated .

    1. I imagine so. If however, e.g. Sturgeon was an infiltrator, the infiltration must have begun in 1986.

She's also doing a really shite job as a unionist plant. Her and Salmond nearly ended the union in 2014 and it's 54% Yes now. The unionists need to replace her, and quick.

      Maybe she's a double agent?

    2. Hi Skier I really hope you are not being sarcastic. I was referring to the sort of people who could have an influence on strategy .As in prev posts, I could not agree with you more. The FM and the ScotGov are doing a fantastic job in handling this pandemic but also showing to the increasing number of wavering unionists benefits of an Independent Scotland .

      Delete
    3. I hoped the 'double agent' line would give away the tone.

I don't doubt there are are unionist plants in the SNP. They don't seem to be running the SNP however. If they were, they're doing a really shite job as they've got support for Yes higher than even Salmond managed.

Skier maybe she is a triple agent.

More likely she is just a very cautious person who is afraid of losing and likes her position in power as FM and is not ready to retire yet until she completes her social agenda.

  15. I see on twitter the SNP is on 6% on the Opinium weekly poll for UK wide.

    https://twitter.com/OpiniumResearch/status/1282019958004658176

As it was pointed out on twitter the Scottish sample has an over sample of Tories - 38% voted Tory in December when it was only 25%. SNP at 47% in this poll.
