The front pages of the press are stowed fu o’ indignant spin propagated on behalf of Peter Mandelson. How dare the Police arrest Mandelson and seize his passport on the basis that he’s a flight risk? The continued willingness of the press to carry Mandelson’s propaganda speaks of deep kompromat reaching to the highest echelons of the British elite. The dugs in the street ken what’s going on, yet the press oligarchs still damage their brand credibility by carrying Mandelson’s pathetic, entitled whimpering. One aspect of the story is way off. The Police allegedly acted based on a tip-off from the Speaker of the House of Lords, Lord Forsyth of Drumlean that Mandelson was about to fly / flee to the British Virgin Islands. The British Virgin Islands have an extradition treaty with the UK, dummy. If only there was a rouge state that gave criminals unconditional asylum based on their ethno-religious status, which would be amenable to granting Mandelson sanctuary. Oh yeah …
The Times is reporting that a large population sample, MRP poll is predicting an outright SNP majority in May. The poll is conducted by Stonehaven, and was presumably commissioned by The Times (behind a paywall). Nothing up on Stonehaven website yet. Swinney’s sphincter must be knitting a wee bunnet this morning. His purposefully unattainable threshold may actually be passed. He might actually be required to do something. Nah, who are we kidding? He’ll ask for a Section 30 order, mutter something about democratic outrage when it’s refused, shrug his shoulders, and go back to collecting his British state pension. “Oh well, never mind, better luck next decade.”.
I've never heard of Stonehaven (except as the town near Aberdeen) and they don't seem to be members of the British Polling Council. Where have they suddenly popped up from?
I assume you’re talking about an SNP seat majority. That won’t shift the dial on independence, if the pro independence vote share is below the all important 50%. Asking for a section 30, when the SNP poll say thirty odd percent would be ridiculous and we’d be open to much ridicule from unionists and indeed Westminster. People like you need to wake up to this fact.
I'm a hardline independence supporter and wanted the defacto referendum. But I recognise that its something you need to lead upto. The narrative isn't there to do it right now. I think its not insurmountable for Scots to vote for a party wanting independence in majority. It was nearly done before and if we want it to happen it'll probably need to be more than ever before. Therefore I agree with Swinney. Unless there is a pact and "together for yes" cross party which is another option
Write up is now on the website of Stonehaven. No data tables, or detailed breakdown of seats. Stonehaven is a front for “UK in a changing Europe”, a think-tank associated with Kings College London
An MRP mega-poll suggests a collapse in Labour support could hand the SNP a Holyrood majority — and a renewed push for a second independence referendum.
The seat-by-seat analysis by Stonehaven - published in The Times today - predicts the Scottish National Party will win 67 of 73 constituency seats, securing an outright majority on constituencies alone.
SNP to take 67 Seats, Reform 25 and Labour 15, in the Times/Stonehaven MRP poll.
Stonehaven has been among the most accurate pollsters in recent contests, having predicted the results of the UK general election within a margin of 38 seats.
We have no actual figures for that MRP Stonehaven Poll and only seat predictions. The SNP aren't even an Indy Party now so there is no chance of them winning 67 eats. Something like one quarter to one third of the Scots Indy vote wont vote for a Toxic Wokist Spineless and Bawless Party - FACT
6.42pm - not me at 4.43pm you plank. It’s an anonymous poster just like you. If you actually ever read my posts and had a small measure of intelligence that allowed you to post something better than Hi Ifsy you would see I have suggested it’s far from impossible that the SNP get the majority from the constituency vote. Just like Labour got a massive majority in 2024 on a vote in the 30%s.
Instead you just like to troll like the lowlife you are.
As it becomes clearer and clearer that the SNP are almost certainly going to be forming the next Scottish Government and are perhaps inching closer to an overall majority on their own, so those within our movement whose hatred of Swinney & Co Is their driving force become more and more angry and more and more extreme in that hatred.
You canreally feel that hate in their posts on here.
They would honestly rather see ANY unionist lot win the election, particularly Reform, than the SNP.
Just like Campbell/ Wings, they are now completely lost to our side of the constitutional divide as long as SNP continue to have by far the most public support of any poltical party, which they undoubtedly will.
I don't even need to mention their 'names' on here, as we all know who they are.
Anon at 8.18pm - I can say with 100% honesty I hate your lies.
I would love the SNP to get a majority. Just as I stated I would love Sturgeon to get a majority in 2021 or a majority with the Greens. The reason being it would demonstrate they would do NOTHING about independence and hopefully there would be a clear out of the devolutionist leadership.
I note once again that your post refers to an election win with nothing about independence. You anon are only on the side of a political party not Independence for Scotland. You are not on any constitutional divide.
A de facto referendum is way forward.
So anon if you are referring to me then you are a liar. I don’t support Britnat parties.

DeleteDear God; never had a proper job in her life, Sally “Gravy bus Barbie” Donald might get elected in Edinburgh Southern.
DeleteYou don't become King Charles' Privy Counsellor in 2024 ( like Swinney did) if you are planning to be no part of the UK any time soon.)

DeleteWGD's talking it up, saying they nailed the 2024 result with their MRP as well. But who are they? Did another pollster rebrand?
DeleteWhich WM seats model are you using, James? I’m still to find a good one.
Swinney's secret plan is to print this one in bold red ink.
DeleteAnon@9-14am

The SNP has said such a result
Such a result will have Swinney asking his handler wtf he's to do now. You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off, etc.
