Just a quick note to let you know I have a new article at The National about the Clybebank Waterfront by-election, which was won by the SNP but saw a really telling surge for Reform UK, who overtook Labour to finish in second place. You can read the article HERE.
Good result for SNP.
ReplyDeleteLOL.
DeleteLoyal Orange Lodge ?
DeleteA very worrying result fir Labour.
ReplyDeleteTransfers in order:
ReplyDeleteFamily (16 out of 25) - SNP 3, Reform 4, Lab 3, Con 1, Grn 1, Alba 4
Alba (36 out of 51) - SNP 19, Reform 8, Lab 3, Grn 6
Green (68 out of 83) - SNP 34, Reform 2, Lab 14, Lib 16, Con 2
Con (53 out of 87) - SNP 3, Reform 26, Lab 11, Lib 13
Lib (109 out of 167) - SNP 25, Reform 32, Lab 52
Lab (287 out of 770) - SNP 208, Reform 79
Interesting to see the patterns. It would be even more interesting if there was a full table or spreadsheet showing all intended transfers including Reform's. I don't think it exists.
I can do that. There is preference profile files that provide the rankings of every ballot paper. I made a python script to create the tables. I did that for all 111 wards Alba contested in 2022 and the by-elections while I was organiser
DeleteThe BBC’s coverage of the massacre of the Palestinians is a disgrace. Just what you would expect from the British State broadcaster.

DeleteOh no! I've just seen that the Loch Lomond theme park is heading for approval after all. I really hoped that it was buried but it looks like Scot Gov will grant permission now. Some local employment is just about the only benefit I can see. Destruction of our heritage landscape is obviously less important.

DeleteBut it don't sing and dance and it don't walk
And long as they can have it here with their fee
They'd much rather be forever in brown envelopes
Don't talk crap
DeleteYou mean don't sing crap. Silly billy.
DeleteFrom those transfers above, perhaps this one is a problem for Sarwar:
ReplyDeleteLab (287 out of 770) - SNP 208, Reform 79
If Starmer is moving Labour closer and closer to Reform UK, it's not going to go down well in Scotland by the looks of it. getting on for 3 time many transfers to the SNP. Perhaps it's time for that branch office to become a real Scottish party, independent of the UK one in every way ...
I can't see that happening with Sarwar in charge. He's a company man through and through. He's also almost completely anonymous among the electorate.
DeleteSarwar isn't in charge, Dame Jackie is.
DeleteI think the latter
ReplyDeleteAgreed, it's Dame Jackie
DeleteI was banned with two email addresses from Wings for dissent
ReplyDeleteSurely not? Somerset's celebrated free speech champion doesn't allow *dissent*?

And thank you for your assistance in promoting it.
ReplyDeleteIt's not James that Cambell likes to spank.
It's some of his choir boys, rumour has it.
The NAZI Party of England standing Scotland came second. No other comment is needed.
