This synthetic outrage is really, really tedious. Anyone who saw the tweet could instantly tell from the context that "anti-Scottish" was intended to be shorthand for "anti-independence".https://t.co/wV7WAEZov1

Devi Sridhar is American, and no-one can reasonably expect someone from outside Scotland to know with precision how the different constitutional camps label themselves, and what is likely to cause offence.

Davidson knows full well that the words weren't intended in the way she is pretending to take them, which means she's demonising a leading scientific expert on the basis of what is essentially a falsehood.

That's the second time in the space of a few weeks, Ruth. It's becoming a habit. And just like the first time, it tells us far more about you than about the person you're smearing.
— James Kelly (@JamesKelly) July 4, 2020
Ironic that the whole point of Devi Sridhar's tweet was to explain that unionists were making politically-motivated attacks on her. The reaction proved her spectacularly right. I wonder if Ruth thinks we're not intelligent enough to spot that.
— James Kelly (@JamesKelly) July 4, 2020
Also: if you dislike "anti-Scottish" as a substitute for "unionist", fair enough, but perhaps stop describing yourselves as "pro-UK". It's logical enough to infer from such language that your opponents must be the "pro-Scotland" side.

Their true concern is of course that her advice might help Scotland eliminate the virus. In contrast to our neighbours. Can't really say that though, can they?
— Andy M (@andylmo) July 4, 2020
The Scottish Tories had a choice in this crisis. They could have been part of 'Team Scotland'. Instead they've decided to be pro-virus, and I'm not sure they'll ever be forgiven.https://t.co/OiQrlTxEn6

The Scottish Chambers of Commerce should reflect carefully on their ill-judged call for the Scottish Govt to put "politics...to one side" and "align with a UK-wide approach" on air bridges. It isn't politics they're asking to be set aside, it's public health.

Ahh just think, in 306 days she'll be gone from Holyrood.
ReplyDeleteIt would appear that there is now a concerted/co-ordinated effort on the part of Unionists to attack Professor Sridhar.
ReplyDeleteThis from Talking up Scotland about comments from Brian Wilson which were criticised by Malcolm Chisholm. So not all Unionists just the bottom feeders
https://talkingupscotlandtwo.com/2020/07/04/brian-wilson-revealed-as-even-more-loathsome-than-we-thought-after-senior-labour-figure-defends-professor-sridhar-against-his-attacks/
Ruth Davidson, like many Britain first nationalists, is just very insecure.
ReplyDeleteOur Skier an expert on everything. You did not have much to say on your Sinn Fein IRA mob breaking the rules at a funeral or the so called BLM accompanied by the Green Brigades mobbing around Glasgow. You are a selective creature.
DeleteOh no. Is ex-celeb Davidson trying to up her profile again?I thinking you're a has-been when you were never even s never-was. She must feel miserable.
ReplyDeleteBritnats like Davidson and Fraser have to believe everything in Scotland is rubbish because everything must be worse than the mother ship called Blighty (England).
ReplyDeleteAll the months of Scotland handling the pandemic better than England and even worse it getting broadcast on their media every day is doing the Britnats heads in. All these years of BBC propaganda getting flushed away by the BBC every day for months now no matter how hard Reporting Scotland lie and misrepresent.
Britnats heads are exploding with pure rage.
I am watching the Roger Melly and drinking a nice cool glass of Pinot. Seems you are exploding Nat zi. We Unionists have your measure. Go out on a protest and wave your flag if it gives you comfort.
DeleteSupport for independence well over the halfway mark and rising, and Jackass Carlot whining on bitterly that the tide is turning against his weary band of relics because the SG is just so damn good. Oh dearie me, not a happy bunny, is he?
DeleteSo drink up, Clown - you're gonna need it. There's a lot more besides to come, especially when you finally realise that your supposed pals down south don't give a flying fart about you and your dwindling rump of pathetic cringers.
Jacob Rees Mogg humiliates Irish Mp James O'Grady in the Commons.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure she is an 'American'. She refers to herself as 'we' in Scotland so to me she is a Scot.
ReplyDeleteTruthless Davidson is British - a British Nationalist who must make out everything in Scotland is worse than in England. Scots are inferior to the British/English is the Britnat message but most people seeing the thugs sporting their union flags maurading around George square Glasgow will see the truth. Britnats like GWC are pretty disgusting individuals.
DeleteThere was a time when Ruth had the opportunity to make a reputation as a serious politician, but she just carried on with the flailing and ranting. It was fun for the Tories to see someone on their side so unrestrained and aggressive, but she had no higher, constructive, serious level, and she herself knew it.
ReplyDeleteTruthless Davidson like all Britnats will lie at the drop of a hat.
DeleteShe was also protected and inflated beyond her merits by a collaborationist media. And even their huffing couldn't keep the balloon aloft for long. Truth will out. As it is doing now in spades.
DeleteAnyone who is against a public health measure that may contribute to eradicating this virus in Scotland, just because it offends their Unionist political positions, IS anti-Scottish.
ReplyDeleteI’m fairly sure that I’ve recently been reading about poor Ruth suffering mental stress as a result of the nasty personal nature of politics.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she could recognise that people outwith her own bubble are also due some respect and a little bit of shielding from the shrill voices crying ‘unionism or death’.
Maybe that’s a forlorn hope though.
