I believe The Republic Of Ireland has about 40 ferry links to the continent (Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany) with some level of EU assistance.

ReplyDeleteIt's about anything that Scotland might want now or at any time in the future of the world that isn't granted to us by the great and powerful country of used to be
I think there are two routes from Ireland to Spain, and one or two to France. If you are in Scotland, even when there was a ferry from Rosyth to Zeebrugge it was quicker to drive to Hull for N. Europe, and Portsmouth for S. Europe.
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone operate a ferry from Ireland to Germany when you can drive most of the way there in a straight line? The width of Britain and the length of Denmark x 2 are in the way if you are on a boat.

DeleteThere used to be a ferry between Aberdeen and Bergen when the price of fridges and washing machines in Aberdeen made the trip financially viable to Norwegians.
