Burnham U-turns on the U-turn: after just 24 hours, he reverts to the previous policy that Scotland *doesn't* have the same right to democratic self-determination as Northern Ireland for "historical reasons". Is that code for "the UK government is punishing Scotland for being impeccably peaceful", Andy?

    Burnham has informed Scotland that we are not equal to others and that we are definitely not in a union of any kind
    Scotland has been informed that our country is the occupied territory of England, so those who believed they were unionists were lied to as well as the rest of us

    Scotland has been informed by the English government that our country is in the same position as Ireland was before they took their country back from occupation
