As Keir Starmer nears his exit, who should the independence movement want to replace him?

  1. The Labour Together faction is still very much in charge.
Detailed reports claim that Starmer was never intended to be their first option. Wes Streeting was their man, but they feared he would loose to Rishi Sunak in the coming election, so Starmer was installed as a place holder. Seems improbable to me, Harold Shipman in a red rosette would have beaten Sunak.
Wes Streeting would never win a free and fair ballot of ordinary members, but Labour’s electronic voting system (commissioned by Morgan McSweeney) has been accused of being seriously dodgy in the past.
“Those who vote decide nothing. Those who count the vote decide everything.” Jospeh Stalin.

Post script: Morgan McSweeney is off to Ukraine to help install a new electronic voting system for their elections. Does anyone doubt that McSweeney was a creature of the intelligence services now?

  3. If we’re talking about foisting failed parliamentarians on the public, why not David Milliband.
He’s got all the correct credentials. Right of centre, international experience, former cabinet minister, and an absolutely unapologetic Zionist.

  5. I must admit I find it strangely thrilling whenever Angela Rayner talks down Scotland. So yes I'd definitely prefer her, too.

  6. YouGov Westminster voting intention, field work 10 - 11 May, population sampling 2,338.
UK headlines: RefUK 11% lead (+4% week on week). Labour 3rd equal with Greens.
YouGov aren’t RefUK friendly. This is probably their highest ever watermark. RefUK are on 28% and Restore Britain are on 3%. In England a full third of voters will opt for this far right combination.

    Scottish sub-sample (203)
    Con 10%, Lab 10%, LibDem 9%, SNP 39%, RefUK 17%, Green 13%.

    Astonishing Welsh sub-sample (112)
    Con 10%, Lab 6%, LibDem 3%, Plaid Cymru 40%, RefUK 33%, Green 3%.
