Alba's Christina Hendry has accused Nicola Sturgeon of "cowardice". Three words: pot, kettle, black.

  1. Alba really is a disgusting, disgraceful and totally defunct collection of human detritus.

Their rancid stench is overwhelming and they should be flushed from the independence movement for once and for all.

  2. If they think Nicola Sturgeon is lying take her to court and see what happens
    They won't

    1. Truly only an idiot from WGD could make the comment at 10.15am. You don’t take people to court for lying or there would be a massive queue of politicians lined up before the courts.

    3. I think the guy is right, take her to court if you Alba union supporters can prove she's wrong about one word she says go ahead, why not, you're alleging slander or worse so get on with it, what are you all moaning about
You're just making a fool of yourself again IFS nobody is taking her to court, they can't afford to get aired what she can prove

    4. Moira Salmond announced today they are locked and loaded for their legal case against Nicola Sturgeon/Salmond complaints process conspiracy etc etc. For a family declaring they are so concerned about Alex's legacy, this really will be cemented into Scottish history as his legacy for Scotland - and one wonders whether Scotland deserves to be left with his personal baggage implying that everyone but Alex are being tarred with having to take the responsibility for his choice of personal behaviours. Still, if there's a need to get 3 million bucks -that's quite a lure. Whatever the result - I'm not sure it will remove doubts that this move does have a tackiness about it. No doubt the Salmond team and their many supporters have the benefit of the best legal contacts - so at the end of the day it all comes down to who has the best lawyers - and no doubt at all that Salmond had inroads there and an army of people who would still walk through fire to deify him. Not sure it's right though that Scotland should be held to ransom with what seems to be a dikat that nobody ever ever ever is allowed to say anything slightly negative about Alex in any context whatsoever. Scotland shouldn't have to burden this Alex revenge 'thing' for ever and ever and ever - and he should never have deliberately lobbied the yes movement as a vehicle to hide behind and encourage it to take sides on his behalf. However, the Salmond family have powerful friends - the crushing of Nicola Sturgeon still seems to be the yes movement intention - so the Salmond's seem to be guaranteed full support. His supporters seem to have been working against Nicola Sturgeon for years - so it seems inevitable that in Scotland - Salmonds rule.

    5. 6.07pm in Scotland nobody should be able to get away with conspiring to make up stories to send anyone to jail. It’s basic justice nothing to do with all your nonsense.

    8. Fantasy stuff from anon at 7.07pm. It’s not the deceased Salmond on trial or any of the people you mention. It’s Sturgeon/Lloyd/Evans.

Or First Minister Swinney why did you cover up……………………?
Or Mr Murrell why did you tell your member of staff to get the police in London involved. Did your wife tell you to do this?

    9. 2.22pm what can she prove? No answer by anon tells you anon is telling porkies just like his great ex leader Nicola the great one.

    10. Anon at 2.22pm. First of all anon you refer to some post above as if I posted it. I did not. You are clearly a classic WGD numpty who is obsessed with me and see me everywhere.
The term slander is for verbal defamation. So numpty if you are referring to the contents of Sturgeon's book you are showing your lack of knowledge. Salmond is deceased so a dead person cannae be defamed and nobody can " get on with it ". So once again a WGD numpty is demonstrating their ignorance and blind loyalty to the worst leader Scotland has had to endure since that other Toom Tabard.

Get the tatto numpty to remind yourself you have been conned by Sturgeon.

  4. Sturgeon owes the media in Scotland, absolutely nothing. Two fingers raised in customary fashion perhaps. Of all political figures she has been treated the worst by far by them. And yet they moan and whinge about her not wanting to talk to them, or to be precise, listen to their febrile rantings.

So-called journalists should ponder on this following definition of "Interview (journalism)":

"A journalistic interview takes the form of a conversation between two or more people: interviewer(s) ask questions to elicit facts or statements from interviewee(s). Interviews are a standard part of journalism and media reporting. In journalism, interviews are one of the most important methods used to collect information, and present views to readers, listeners, or viewers."

In general all politicians face a media that wants to force their views on the politician, rather than "elicit facts or statements from interviewee(s)". Some would say there are no journalists any more. Just opinionated big mouths with an overdeveloped and undeserved ego.

    1. The media trying to imply that Sturgeon was dodging them is just a trope. It was an Edinburgh Book Festival venue and event and under the control of her publishers and like all of the other authors - you have to get out of the room to let the next author and their paying audience in. The publishers arrange who they invite from press - not the authors and certainly not Nicola Sturgeon. The press whinge over this is misleading and their whinge is really just their expression at how miffed they were not being given carte blanche to steamroller over the book festival premises and book event because they felt entitled to do so - and the usual journos just wanted to use it to do their usual anti-Sturgeon stuff. Dummies out of pram.

    2. Brave piece James and I imagine you'll likely be put in the Salmond army's crosshairs for it - everyone else seems to be if they don't bend the knee to the powers of this dynasty.

    3. 6.17pm “ bend the knee to the powers of this dynasty” I thought Alba were finished and an irrelevance. I do wish you would make up your mind.

  5. There are a lot of people who really need to get the date of Sturgeon's promised referendum tattooed on the back of their hand to remind them of the treachery of Sturgeon and her gang.

SAVE THE DATE on the back of your hand and stop the ridiculous idolatry of such a self serving dishonest creature.

Forgotten it have you. Here is your reminder 19/10/23.

    2. How the hell was Nicola Sturgeon going to deliver a referendum in 2023, when Westminster wouldn’t grant one?
It’s not even like 2023 was a GE or Holyrood election year, that could be declared a de facto referendum!
I think you make things up as you go along ifs.

    3. Anon@9.10pm. If Nicola couldn’t deliver a referendum then why did she name the date. It looks more like Nicola was making it up as she went along.

You seem to be ignorant of the fact that you do not need Holyrood to be an election year to use it as a de facto referendum. Self determination is a right and not something to be granted by Westminster.

It looks like you are one of the people who IFS is saying should get the tattoo.

  8. Sturgeon’s work of fiction in hardback is already half price on Amazon. Frankly Nicola must have set a new record in this respect and she should be in the Guinness Book of Records. Amazon also offer it on audio for free. So Sun readers don’t lower your standards and pay good money for this trash.

I am sure Nicola will now take up one of the many senior job offers that she has received from International organisations 🤣.

  9. At the end of the day - the message to the world about Scotland is simple. It's a little medieval backwater pretending it is outward-looking and pretending it wants to be a model of a 'well-being' society - when really, at its core, its bedrock has shown its face to the world as being little different from a Henry VIII model - ie this is what happens when any wee woman who dares to say No to a very well resourced and well connected powerful man. And heaven forfend - a country where some are so fond of declaring it is tarred by 300 years of bad British habits and wants independence in order to break free of it - but where some of its influencers immediately turn to bods in Westminster with appeals to garner its support to ensure one wee woman be forever villified for stepping out of line and not kow towing to the historic British rules of women must know their place and must obey the powerful man in all things no matter what - because you must take your punishment from powerful men. It's the British way.

  10. In terms of her legacy, Sturgeon's book is proving to be a catastrophic act of self harm. Full of untruths and spiteful revisionism it shows her up as the nasty bit of work many have been claiming she is for years.
It's also re opened two barely healed wounds for the SNP. I haven't seen a single review of her book without Isla Bryson and the attempted jailing of Salmond being referenced.
Even her biggest fans will admit it's not gone well, frankly.
