See you in the decade of independence?

Well, I was all set to write a retrospective of how Scot Goes Pop has covered the seismic events of the last decade...but I've run out of time.  Maybe tomorrow, or the day after.  In the meantime have a photo, and see you in the Probably-Not-Very-Roaring Twenties (although with a bit of luck it might be the decade in which Scotland becomes an independent country).

  1. Not if Mhairy Hunter has anything to do with it.

Does anyone know why she is able to get away with calling ordinary Yessers, "trash," while having a New Year party with aiden skinner. A man who, unless my memory fails me, publicly called for the murder of a baby.

That is not to ignore his constant campaign of lies and smears against Scotland, anything Scottish, the idea that Scotland should even be allowed to exist.

A strange friend to have for any member of the SNP, far less an elected official one would think.

  2. Well, with the english nationalists having signed away NI to get themselves a better deal, it's certainly going to be the year the UK broke up.

  3. Might Be sounds rather pessimistic young James. Just home from the RSNO and Glasgow Chambers Choir Hugmananny Concert. People seemed rather positive especially when the Skye Boat Song was sung. Best wishes and a happy new year to all political animals on here. My new year's resolution is to send you another tenner young James to perpetuate your misery during 2020. Och Aye.

Ah, that'll be because, unlike you, I don't take the electorate for granted. I'd have thought you'd have learned that lesson after...how many election defeats in a row is it now? Nine?

    2. Nine in a row young James are you talking about your favourite fitbae team! You Nat sis lost both referendums and that is what is more important. I reckon it will be around 2034 when another Scottish referendum is held. Strange young James is how you Nat sis want to hand our independence away to the EU. You are a fake Nat si party.

  4. I'm sure it is. Got blocked by some religious nutter last night. Some reverend or other he has a Tranny fixation I think. He maybe a latent bisexual I don't know. Anyhoo after twitter told him he was out of order he got a bit fascist and blocked me. I think it was a bit petty. Back to the independence thing. I'm sure it will happen in 2021. Events should go our way. Unless lgbt shit gets in the way. Oops I'm out obf order again.

    1. "LGBT shit", Jock? This gay man thinks you're not necessarily out of order But: human rights are indivisible. If you start saying that some people can have them and others can't, they're not really human rights, are they? So... do we agree at least that who other people want to kiss is none of our business? With the usual caveats and categories excluded for cause, of course - but independent of sex, gender, race, origin and religion, disability or whatever other consideration is really not supposed to matter in the eyes of the law.

    2. Absolutely agree, apart from on 'gender'. There are two sexes only, with the concept of gender very sexist and regressive. We should never try to define people based on cultural stereotypes; it's the very root of sexism, racism, homophobia etc. As a progressive society, we should aim to dispense with the entire concept of gender.

The next time you mention your granny fighting the Nazis think about the ROI harbouring a top Nazi after the war.

    1. Rednecks were working class Americans who wore red scarfs around their necks to show solidarity with fellow workers in the class struggle. Just shows how the Scottish Nat sis are historically brainwashed. Yellow Tories and so thick they do not know it.

  9. If anyone is interested, Mikey Small is being gloriously Pwned over his claim that Underbelly made £45,000,000 from running Edinburgh's Christmas and Hogmanay.

The sad little (very little, I heard) man doesn't seem to be able to tell the difference between the amount claimed as extra business in Edinburgh and the amount a single company made. And yet he doubled down on his mad claims and sneeringly dismissed the lady who pointed out his error.

A sad sexist bigot but he still feels the need to signal his virtue every 20 seconds. Loser!

The link should anyone else need cheering up after fake Dr not Who.
