REVEALED AT LAST: What Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh NEVER wanted you to know - the "secret" results of Alba's 2023 internal elections

In October 2023, Alex Salmond took to the stage of Alba's 2023 conference in Glasgow, theatrically brandishing what he claimed was a "black dossier" containing unspecified evidence of unspecified wrongdoing by unnamed individuals.  He insisted this supposed evidence meant he was justified in nullifying the results of the party's internal elections - something he had no authority to do under Alba's constitution.  But his story simply wasn't true, and he later admitted that no dossier ever existed.  There was in fact a very different and much more malicious reason for voiding the election results.  In the video below, I can for the first time reveal in full what those results actually were.  I also have more information about why Gail Hendry, the sister of Mr Salmond, dramatically resigned from the Alba NEC last week.  And there's a fascinating nugget about how Morgwn Davies, who was deselected as an Alba list candidate for Holyrood on the demand of the acting party chair, should now be automatically offered a place on the NEC on exactly the same "lucky loser" basis that Shannon Donoghue got her own place, due to the vacancies caused by recent resignations.  But will the party rules be followed, or will Morgwn be stitched up yet again?  The latter seems much more likely somehow.

  1. Truly banana Republic stuff. God only knows the hold that awful woman had over Alex Salmond.

    1. In fairness, he wasn't exactly a great fan of internal party democracy when he was SNP leader either

  3. Were the members to afraid or loyal to Alex Salmond that they let this happen? Surely cancelling an election result on the day it’s meant to be announced is somewhat unusual.
And why did Salmond give in to Ahmed-Sheikh what did she have over him?

  4. James can you ask your source for the results of the OM vote please? After I publically resigned due to no results being given, I was given the excuse they weren't publishing results as some candidates would be embarrassed with their low votes. I then publocally asked those who got top spots, Tasmina and Abdul if they would publish their personal results as there was no embarrassment at being 1st. For that I was accused by Susan McAskill, as being racist. What followed was weeks of abuse at the same time my close family memebrt was dying. It all completely messed with my head and I was eventually put on anti depressants. Im not ashamed to admit that. Getting the results would give me some peace of mind following what was a truly awful time. Not only for myself, but also for my mum who had to watch as I was continuously, publically abused just for being honest and speaking out.

    1. Or perhaps your source may know about the members hidden away in HQ Lacu?

    2. Hi Leanne, I'm not directly in touch with the source, but the person who is will almost certainly read your comment and get in touch with you privately. I still haven't seen the Ordinary Member results.

    3. Thanks. Even a confirmation of all the new members assigned to HQ Lacu prior to the elections would be good. Belated congratulations to Denise and Jacqui who deservedly won.

  5. Congratulations to Denise and Jacqui, who, anyone with a brain knew won. What a kick in the teeth to them, and to every Alba member who's votes were worth nothing.

  6. "Come on, you've got to let us have that one, @Keir_Starmer, Scotland rugby victories recently have been as rare as Labour voters in Gorton and Denton!

    Harharhar"

    BRILLIANT, James Kelly!

  7. Truth be told, I worry what an independent Scotland would’ve been like under Alex. Nicola is a compulsive liar and Peter allegedly stole money from doners. They would’ve held dictatorial power in an independent Scotland.

    1. Scotland would never have been independent under Alex Salmond, remember he asked for devo max on the ballot paper.
If Sturgeon was a compulsive liar how come it took Police Scotland over two years to find nothing?
Salmond was your liar and it's coming out now in dribs and drabs, and if the crown was so sure of their embezzlement case why did they postpone it until after the election when a guilty verdict would have been bad for the SNP?
The whole Alba farce is proving to be exactly what Nicola Sturgeon said it was.

    2. Thank Christ that as part of the union the worst excesses of our First Ministers are moderated by Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Nigel Farage

    1. Yes, they actually posted those results on Twitter on Tuesday (I think). I've been meaning to mention it ever since, but there's always been something else going on.

  11. It turns out that the donor who is paying for the Salmond against Scottish government case is a Labour party member

  12. Sounds as if Tas’ ego couldn’t thole successful women & Alex, to his shame, allowed 2 dedicated & committed members - Denise & Jackie B - to be lost to the party. Utterly despicable.
