Merci, Monsieur Spanner. De nada, Ardrossan.

Well, I hope the people of Ardrossan are duly grateful for my heroic efforts on their behalf today - my previous blogpost single-handedly got them trending on Twitter across the whole UK.

That's Ardrossan in tenth place just after 10pm, and it was at least as high as eighth at one point.

By the same token, I'm deeply grateful to "Brian Spanner", Euan McColm, J K Rowling et al, because their affected "hilarity" over the subject (which I've been privately offered some very intriguing interpretations of) helped this blog to its highest level of traffic in a single day since the general election period last spring.  In all honesty, I'm a bit miffed it wasn't even better than that, but it seems even the magic of Hogwarts has its limitations.

Incidentally, I'm excited to inform you that I actually spent an hour or so on Ardrossan beach last year when I was killing time waiting for the train after a delayed ferry back from Arran.  I'm sure I took some pictures, so I'll study them closely and let you know if I spot any misogynists lurking in the seaweed.

  4. The yoon-journos thought if they didn't say and didn't look no one would find out the truth about Ardrossan. One ferry, one train station, one misogynist.

  5. The tweet about Margaret Curran and Female Genital Mutilation was disgusting, but went uncriticised by JK Rowling and the British media.Shame on them all.

  8. Don't know how long this road to independence is but it isn't half taking some amusing twists and turns. Wifi triangulation in Ardrossan? Whatever next? I need to go out for more popcorn.

  9. ""Brian Spanner", Euan McColm, J K Rowling et al, because their affected "hilarity" over the subject ..."

And it truly is "affected" for the very simple reason that the tweets of @brianspanner1 are so vile and disgusting, and misogynistic, that only a perverted mind(s) could produce them. But having been found out they are trying to pass them off as a joke. I'm sure Maggie Curran et al had a good laugh.

It's like when you are slagging someone off, thinking they are absent, only to belatedly discover to your horror that they in fact can hear and have heard every word you said. The fall back position then, which fools no-one is to bluster and try to pretend that you knew all along they were there and that what you said was all a big joke. We've all been there or thereabouts. The fairy tale teller and her hackery friends are fooling nobody.

  10. That’s the thing with self-interest yoon trolls, they have nothing to offer but abuse and insults, is it any wonder that more and more decent people are turning their back on a bitter and twisted union.

  13. Disgusted by what I saw of Spanner's women hating tweets and the wall of silence of the press. Especially given the treatment of ordinary activists on the other side for far less or nothing at all.

Saw your later comment about how people hadn't read your blog with care. That included me. I think that's partly because of the number who came via twitter. You get used to skimming through things and moving on to try to find the next part of the jigsaw. May not be till you've run round all the tweeted links that you realise what was the most illuminating part of the sequence.

You were clear in what you were saying and hope that you get more readers for your blog.

BTW for some people anonymous is the only option as none of the others apply.
