Wisdom on Wednesday : The housemates up for eviction this year are...

"A Yes for independence, Michelle Mone leaves. A No for independence, I leave. Vote wan of us oot! What's it to be?"

'Still Game' star Greg Hemphill, presenting the choice we're faced with this September in its starkest form yet. I'll need to take 0.000000000000000000000000001 microseconds to think about this one.

(And please don't feel guilty. When the inevitable happens, an excitable host will be on hand to reassuringly whisper in Michelle's ear "It's just pantomime booing, babes".)

  3. Anon : Yeah, of course, because England is the only other habitable part of the world. (*Rolls eyes*)

  4. Your Political Racism fans still paying a visit every now and again I see.

Apparently mike racist libdem apologist smithson had declared that there is no boost for Yes from Scotland no longer being an invisible country.

How many polls on the subject have been taken and published since the weekend?

  5. Anon : Zero is the answer. Surely to God that must be obvious even to Smithson?

  6. Our 'brave' Anonymous idiot sounds very like an out of touch PB tory twit James.

News reaches me that the mask is slipping again from the prize twits TheScreamingEagles (a.k.a. the witless tory moderator for the stormfront lite site politicalbetting who lied about his own child dying to try and welch out of a bet) and "stuff the jocks" Smithson (the fool who turned his betting site into a right wing parody and far-right circle jerk by putting TSE in charge of the site because he couldn't be arsed paying anyone competent to do the job)

TSE was a big Romney supporter (no surprise there) but apparently he hilariously thinks Yes supporters are now somehow as clueless as he was. Presumably because you report ALL the methodology changes to the polls (of which there are so many now including the absurd YouGov "Kellner Correction") whereas those who got it so amusingly wrong in 2011 like Curtice don't seem to think such things as methodology changes are important in polling any more.

This would also be the Same TSE who along with his tory chums were convinced Andy Coulson was a non-story and who tried to censor those who laughed at their partisan stupidity. Coulson is in prison, they were full of shit. Simple as that.

  7. Apologies, Mick, your comment appeared briefly and then got caught by the spam trap. I'll have to release it when I get home tonight, because it's too difficult to do it on my phone.

  8. True James, I forgot a NO vote means we'll still be in the EU so he can pick anywhere in Europe. A YES vote on the other hand... :-)

    ReplyDelete
  9. ...still entitles him to move anywhere in Europe as he's an EU citizen :-)

  10. OK, the comment from Mick Pork has finally been restored!

SuperAnon : Ah, now I see where you're coming from. You were right first time - I can see now that a No vote followed by Cameron's in/out referendum on the EU might well limit the travel options of Scots quite dramatically.

    Truly we do!

  12. James as our very own polling guru what do you make of this from Washington Post http://buff.ly/1zwjw88 ?

    ReplyDelete
  13. "what do you make of this from Washington Post"

Doesn't account for shy Yes which we can be very confident exists, particularly now that ICM have effectively demonstrated it for us (people saying No to Y/N then marking themselves as a Yes later on 1-10 scaling).

  14. Would I be doctoring Panelbase's results if when I say I'm voting 'Yes', I also say I was born in England? If anyone else receives their surveys I wouldn't for a minute suggest you 'skew' their results by making an honest mistake.

  15. PB racists soiling their panties over the independent and a new poll of polls showing an increasing lead for NO.

Not new polls, No massive increase in the No lead. Just the result of including the fiddled polls from urghgov.

    Scotland-haters are easily pleased.

  16. Jesus, next they'll be praying in aid the legendary "Steve Sayers Poll of Polls" - which turned out to be an average of all polls since 2011, thus making any changes almost impossible!

The daft thing is that the Independent figures are not even from a new Poll of Polls - it's just a rehash of the figures from What Scotland Thinks, and the gap has actually narrowed since the last update, thanks to the Panelbase poll.

    ReplyDelete
  17. David : Unless you first registered with Panelbase quite a long time ago, you wouldn't be eligible for referendum polls anyway (you might be interviewed, but it wouldn't count towards the published results). I think most online pollsters have mechanisms in place to spot people trying to game the system, so if you were going to tell porkies you would have to keep it consistent every time you're interviewed.

In any case, now that Panelbase have introduced country of birth weighting, you would just be weighted down if you said you were born in England!

  18. Is the infamous Bangkok sex tourist SeanT making a twat out of the moderators again on PB?

I was reliably informed the mockney posh boy SeanT was busy calling all teachers "c*cksu**ers" and "w*nkers" mere hours after "stuff the jocks" Smithson had one of his periodic strops and banned MalcolmG for "uncivilised" posting.

PoliticalBetting really are a laughing stock now. It can only be fear that the posh twit SeanT writes about them in one of his clilckbait pieces for TSE and Smithson to so publicly make such a fool of themselves and their site by indulging his far-right unhinged lunacy.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mick : So that's MalcolmG, you, me, and the long lost Ezio all banned. Stuart isn't currently banned (as far as I know) but he was for about two years. And we're supposed to believe this is all just pure coincidence, and not a vendetta against SNP posters? It's pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  20. He was banned for a few days apparently which is of course how the cowardly PB mods start. Sooner or later he will be quietly 'removed' lest any dissenting scottish voices spoil the right-wing circle-jerk that is politicalbetting.

News also reaches me that the senile old duffer JackW is openly demanding people be banned. Mostly those who laugh at him obviously yet that in itself was a banning offense. Not any more. The cowardly PB mods are comically incompetent as well as bigoted.

I'm told TUD only posts once in a blue moon just to laugh at the out of touch westminster bubble thinking PB exemplifies. Stuart used to be the only knowledgeable poster who actually bothered to post regularly on betting matters after they forced tim out. Now Stuart also doesn't bother since it's become such a far-right zoo and obsequious Cameroon fan club, and you can hardly blame him.

I've even seen people mocking PB on Wings so it's status as a joke site full of racists and tory twits is hardly going unnoticed.

The tory posters there are wonderfully oblivious that Cammie, little Ed and Clegg are self-evidently all held in utter contempt by most of the electorate. A fact which only makes their pitiful shrieking and whining about Salmond and the SNP all the more amusing.

    *chortle*

  21. One other noteworthy thing James is that panic is clearly setting in among the BritNat twits at the thought of Darling debating Salmond. (We shall of course gloss over the fact that the out of touch twits are utterly clueless that Salmond debated Darling long before now and Darling came off a very poor second even according to labour friendly pundits)

Be that as it may, the tory twits also don't seem to realise they will be forced to cheer on and praise to the skies one of the two people Cameron and Crosby's entire election campaign strategy hinges on monstering. Which promises to be hilarious.

Everyone knows and has know for years that "Don't let Labour ruin it again" will be wall to wall and blasted across every tory PPB and right wing paper in the land in the coming months before the GE. It is absolutely pivotal that the tories raise the spectre again and again and again of when Darling crashed the economy as chancellor under Brown.

Yet the tory twits still haven't grasped that they will be forced to pretend none of that matters while also ignoring that flipper Darling was one of THE biggest expenses troughers in Westminster. The lib dems demanded he resign as chancellor over his expenses for f**k's sake. It was a huge deal.

So I'm going to enjoy every hypocritical second of the tories gushing over Darling as it's going to come back and bite them very rapidly indeed. It's not as if little Ed is ever going to be praised so Labour's spindoctors will be wetting themselves at the prospect of all this tory praise for the architect of the economic crash being handed to them on a plate.

I also somehow doubt that warm lavish praise from tories is what SLAB will be relishing with the scottish electorate looking on.

    LOL

BTW I enjoyed your posts from the games and Glasgow James. I too can confirm that the atmosphere is pretty damn incredible and people are heading to Glasgow just for that friendly carnival atmosphere even if they aren't attending any of the events. I almost feel sorry for the BritNats making a complete twat of themselves predicting doom and calamity while scotland enjoys the games.

  22. On the subject of the Games, is it not refreshing to see and hear the level of support for all of the Home Nations?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anon : It's really heartening to see and hear the support for all 70+ Commonwealth nations, most of which are of course proudly independent countries which used to be ruled from London.

    ReplyDelete
  24. If people are cheering the 'home nations' then surely it is a sign that Scotland has grown up and is moving into an entirely new and welcome stage in its relationship with its neighbours. Good news, I say. Michael

    ReplyDelete
  25. English people are cheering for England. Scottish people are cheering for Scotland.

That is the normal healthy relationship enjoyed by every other country on the planet.

What happened to the promise to keep politics away from sport.
